I've been an avid fan of Orb since about 1992, even have two wonderful tattoos from Orb album covers , one at the top of each bicep. Ever since Orbus Terrarum they've simply been on a perpetual downhill slide into the abyss of bland, uninspired techno. I've always wished that after Orbus Terrarum the name "Orb" would have been retired, rather than see Alex Patterson and his cronies tarnish the name of something that was once both unique and beautiful.
It always happens to the best of them. Same thing with Art of Noise... got off to a great start and then sold out for money and commercialism. Alex has grown up and stopped doing drugs. Old sober people make boring music unfortunately.
@therealweaselfish It went downhill when Kris Weston left. I was fortunate enough to meet Kris (Thrash) in a South London bar and remind him that without him, The Orb was not The Orb.
last summer he came to my town for a dj set. I went to the consolle to tell him he was an hero for me and he gave me a copy of Cydonia repressed, that would be on the market some days after! what a great man...

From Cydonia onwards they were never the same
