Ive heard a theory put forth that the earth will be met with massive devistation, but that humans will leap to another dimension and wont even realize its happening. Kind of like if somethings on one channel and you change the channel. Whatevers going on over on the first channel you were watching, is still going on...but you have no idea whats happening because you've switched to another channel. Interesting theory I thought.
