  • wonder those 1D MKIII-s got AF box serviced!

MKIII is just defective for speed.

  • Just take a flippin video....

  • "You don't have to wait for the moment, you just capture the WHOLE moment" Kai from DigitalRev TV. Haha

  • Now you don't need to capture the decisive moment. You just shoot! and pick one later xD

  • ATG AK1 Un-Tethered Systems is better than Pocket Wizard Plus II & Multimax.

You just look at wireless Live-View on a pc and do all adjustments & settings from pc which PW can not do. Then just click on the icon shutter button.

  • 2 cameras you get 3D, 3 camera you get 4D WOW LOL

  • "You don't have to capture the decisive moment;

you just capture the whole moment, and decide later..."

  • stupid

  • You rich ass!

  • cat tractor

  • TOTALLY AWESOME GUYS.

  • @jakesaundersphoto Yes, but can your camera shoot 4k video?

  • @redsnowman34 Red One Shoots 4K and the Red Epic Shoots 5K

  • now if you lay another two layers above that rig, to form a square of 9 units, u'll have 90 frames per second! - imagine that at RAW, in full resolution! good for slow motion filming!!!

  • Why you didnt you use a video cam?

  • @Cman775 Yes I'm replying to a 2 month old comment so what :) Do you think a screenshot from a video can even come close to comparing with the 1d mk3? The quality of these photos is insane (and they should be, these 3 cameras cost 8k each, that's not counting the lenses either)

  • well... prefer shooting this with a 120 fps HD 1080p... anyways.. its fun

  • cameras: ~$7000 each

    lenses: over $7000 each :/

  • @MyVlogger cameras even brand new were $4,200. where did you get your price from???

  • @MyVlogger i checked some swedish sites and stores... but they have to pay the toll and that stuff so they can't sell it as cheap as U.S stores

  • @MyVlogger lol i have no idea where you are getting your prices haha (for the cameras at least)

  • @jakesaundersphoto they won't have 10MP stills. Video is not of the same quality. That setup is what brings the money from magazines and papers

  • Why not try 40fps with that extra Camera thrown on the floor??

  • @Azety93 wait....doesn't it show that they ARE photographers? This guy is a photographer and he uses Canons. Same with hundreds of other professional photographers...

  • @Cheezwizhi9 Boy, you are so right. There are no pros using Nikon gear..... (rolls eyes)

  • @Azety93

this comment shows that Nikon users are pretty narrow-minded

  • @BennyArts this shows that nikon users are jealous.(wait, i am a nikon user!!)

  • Buy a Red One 4k camera or a new videocam that shoots with Full HD 50p/60p

  • With video you also get 30 fps, but even at Full HD you get 2 megapixel compressed images. This rig provides 30 fps, each frame being 10 megapixel uncompressed image. It allows more oportunity for selecting a particular frame and still process it for whatever final output you need (print ad, magazine page, etc).

  • This setting looks like some kind of machinegun!

  • @jakesaundersphoto

No because video cameras have to record at 30fps so the image in order to be dumped of the sensor that quickly needs to lose a lot of data. However if you take actual pictures... all of the dynamic range and sharpness and detail of the image is retained. There isa difference between a video frame and an actual photograph my friend.

  • I like the idea, gives a better chance of getting the shot by adding 2 extra cameras with 10fps, but.

Downside is having 3-9x as many photos to look through and sort = extra sorting time = bad, in my head.

  • or you could just use a camcorder

  • @Cheezwizhi9

A camcorder that does 30fps with the resolution of a 1D MkIII? Okay

  • @SKOOKaVISION if the camcorder was a Ikegami HDN-X10, then it would be about the same resolution.

  • @Cheezwizhi9

O_O There's always some exotic piece of equipment out there, isn't there?

I still like this rig better ;)

  • @SKOOKaVISION yeah...good point...the canon rig is much more organized then the Ikegami...even know they cost almost the same

  • machine gun, ready !

  • he shoulda used 4 cameras, so he could have 40 fps.

  • why dont you just record it then..

  • @officialLessThan3 Because a still image from a video is uncompromisable to shot from a Canon 1D like theese.

  • why not just get a slow motion camera...

  • mr. canon!

  • 30fps? just shoot a fuckin movie, that would look better than a bunch of images.

  • @tordern22 its a different story.. dslr shots has higher resolution and quality compared to a screenshot of a hd vid.. think my friend!!

  • @tordern22

Have you ever considered that a still from a Full HD is only 2 megapixel?

  • Can I see the 30fps at 3k

  • Sound like 29.454321831 fps Òò

  • why not just use Phantom which does almost 7000 fps? hmmm....

  • @mrnomore Because it is a digital cinema camera, which will not produce as good of prints as a still camera. It's all about the individual frame quality.

  • @jakesaundersphoto

No you must buy 3 extremely expensive DSLR's with extremely expensive L series lenses!!!!! A video camera is just nonsense! XD

  • this is how you take a photo, LIKE A BOSS

  • All that work to capture a cheat. Bummer.

  • and then??

  • .... Ya or you can just buy a red camera or a cheaper alternative like a phantom.

  • chain gun,

  • Sniper Ghost Warrior! :)

  • you have free, i need just one of them!:D

  • fuckin' goooooood:D

  • ...guess they never heard of the red epic camera

  • Do you idiots really think they didn't think about using a high quality 30fps video camera? I mean come on... This has a totally different purpose

  • SWEET!!!!

  • ... why not just record a video..

  • @xxx4everxxx Because the quality. The quality is way over 1080p!

  • @FinlandApollo and the RED One does 30FPS at 4.5K resolution...

That's more than these cameras put out.

It would cost a shitload less to buy too

  • @pixuma Yeah, true...someday....I will buy RED one xD

  • @pixuma No, it does not cost shitload less. For one 50mm lens from RED, you could buy 3 x 5D mkII each with a L-lens. Then you need all the other stuff.

  • @holkemann lulz... RED one with all the necessary trimmings and a few luxuries comes right out to $37,000

This setup comes in right at $40,000

And the RED will record it at a higher resolution, already sequenced, AND in RAW!

And where the hell did you figure that 3 x 5Dmk2 + 70-200 f/4L (cheapest L lens) which costs right about $9,600 total, equals the $4,300 MSRP of the RED 50mm?

  • @pixuma Doesn't RED not make any super-telephotos? Thought RED maxed their line off at 300mm. I have always been under the impression that RED Epic was not made with anything sports/street/photojournalism/etc. in mind, but rather studio work (it is used on many movie posters/magazines) Might be wrong, but their website only goes up to the 300mm it seems, which is not at all for sports photography.

  • @Diablovtpa that price is including an EF mount adapter and i think i used a canon 600mm to add that up

  • @pixuma Ahhh. Nm than.

  • @Diablovtpa Course, I guess you could just change the mount to support another line.. but than you may just as well go with the other brand, than spend $37,000 on a single unit only to have to attach another companies 6k + lens.... for sports photography...

  • omg !!!!! its expensive camera .,,, but i wish i had one :D

  • or, he could have just taken a 30 frame per second video and save the frames

  • Are trying to create video out of photos? please use a video camera with 30fps, problem solve!

  • @macant3232 No. If that's what they were trying to do they would have used a video camera.

  • @macant3232

NO. But even if they were, this setup provides probably 2 to 3 times the resolution of a normal 1080P camera.

  • please use a video camera with 30fps, problem solve!

  • Used: from $2,149.00 cheapandgood-usa dot com

  • $6,999.95 USD

  • paste in google for cheap -

  • <3

  • "niech Ktoś zatrzyma wreszcie świat , JA WYSIADAM "

  • It would have been much wiser to filter the shots by date and time so as to put them in proper sequence. No clue why anyone would try and sort frames visually(makes no sense to me) but whatever floats your boat I suppose...

  • @SmalltimR

LOL that doesn't work, the EXIF only records the time down to the minute. not the 1/30 of a second needed to do what you suggest.

  • How much $ are standing there?

  • @LuftfahrtFan at LEAST $30,000

  • @LuftfahrtFan around $8k per camera body (at the time) and around $7k per lens

  • why are those idiots in a stadium?!

couldn't they do that at home or so

  • rugl

  • That looks just BADASS!!!

  • just take a video and save thousands

  • talk about some pricy equipment.

  • HOLY CRAP canon 5D mark II shoot HD video at 30fps and there snapping raw files!!!!

  • Why not just ask everyone to repeat the scene over and over again until these guys got the shots they need/want? I figure that my suggestion might be cheaper and/or easier to do ;)

  • link for pics plz

  • Ah..... Why not just use a video camera?

  • @zzkambe it creative

  • @zzkambe quality fail...

  • cuz it's not the same resolution -_-!

  • couldnt you just film video in 60fps with ONE camera and take the best frames from that????????????? wouldnt that be easier? sumone plz tell me if theres sumthin im missing, i wanna learn =P

  • @danmarcelino video camera dos not take as sharp pictures as a still. they usual have some motionblur, which u dont notise in a film, it just makes it smother. thats why if u play a video game with 25 fps it seems a bit lagy.

  • @aleksandersandstrom ohh alright yeah totally!! i didnt even think of that =P thanks brotha!! =D

  • @danmarcelino The censor of the 1D Mark III shoots 3888x2592 pics. A video camera would only give the max og 1080p.

  • @stylizhmathias totally makes sense now XD hahah thanks a lot!! =D

  • @danmarcelino Youre welcome :)

  • professional camera's normal res: 20 mp

film's frame resolution (full hd) 2mp:

  • @xxxXXXCH04XXXxxx

    wrong buddy

  • no, U r WRONG, now SHUT THE FUCK UP!

  • @xxxXXXCH04XXXxxx Completely wrong. What about the 1D Mark IV-16 mp. or even so the Mark III version- 10 mp. It matters not of the megapixel [that's just resolution size] but of the camera's performance and the lens being used. Take into account how much noise could be created if you had to use a high ISO in low light. Then you could get a wide aperture lens [e.g. 2.8] for it and it solves the problem a lil'. Learn your facts.

  • no, ur wrong

  • @xxxXXXCH04XXXxxx feh..ignorance

  • no u

  • @xxxXXXCH04XXXxxx show how much you can speak/understand

  • show how much moron u can be

  • @xxxXXXCH04XXXxxx Only idiots think that it's all about the megapixel. The 1D Mark IV is the most professional you can get in Canon

  • the sony a55 is way better ;)

  • @xxxXXXCH04XXXxxx great a noob that doesn't even bother to research. Sony A55 is one of the least professional SLRs in Sony.

  • so and? is best tnan ur shit

  • @xxxXXXCH04XXXxxx You need mental help. So now all of a sudden you know what camera I have?

  • the a55 is not for morons like u

  • @xxxXXXCH04XXXxxx Maybe because I don't want a camera that's crap?

  • cuz u r a moron

  • @xxxXXXCH04XXXxxx do your research. Then call me a moron. if you still call me a moron, then I know how much researching you've been doing ^^

  • ok moron ^^

  • @xxgwyloxx Don't want to rock your boat, but 1Ds is a much better camera than the 1D.

  • @sofarsogood9

Better, but not as common anymore. I was thinking of selling my 60D and then Buying a 1Ds Mark II

  • @xxgwyloxx 60D isn't so great in my opinion. It's more focused on video taking than photo taking. Me personally, I would get a 50D as a lot of features on it makes it more desireble to use for photography than 60D. 1Ds Mark II is a professional DSLR, of which its features are a lot different compared to mid-low range DSLRS, me personally, it would be a pretty big change for me, but I'm sure it will take amazing photos with some tests and such, just like every other DSLR.

  • @sofarsogood9 either way im still happy that i have a dslr, but i should've studied more about slrs before i bought it, rather than after. but if i can haggle my dad enough and find a great bargain, i may just be able to get either the canon 1ds mark iii, the iD mark IV, or the nikon D3X. i'm really only looking for flag ships.

  • @sofarsogood9 Your opinion isn't valid unless you've owned the camera and used it. Why would you use a 50D over a 60D? That makes no sense. The only thing 60D has for video that is better than any other is the flip out screen. That's your reasoning behind it being "More focused on video" The T2i, 60D & 7D are the same camera's when it comes to image and video quality. You should learn a little more about camera's before acting like you know something. Unless you're a pro, you don't need A 1Ds.

  • @KyleeChristopher I've used 50D, 60D, 550D, 5D, and I own a 7D myself. I know enough to say that 60D is a beginners camera due to its button arangement, build quality, as well as many other downgrades such as the lower shutter speed and a lower quality noise performance. As much as I would agree with you that all three cameras are able to take the same quality of images based on similar specs, do note 550's noise performance is clearly inferior when compared to the 7D and the 5D.

  • @KyleeChristopher Also, in my opinion, the 60D is more video centric because of many features added to the 60D are used to video editing, though equipped with a 18MP sensor, many other aspects have been downgraded or left unchanged when compared to the 50D, the button placement is also worse on the 60D when compared to the 50D due to the swivel screen. While I do like the screen, it is not essencial in taking pictures because Live mode is slow AF wise and shutter wise.

  • @KyleeChristopher Now on to your *pro* camera talk. I do agree with you that such high end cameras such as the 1D series from Canon, the D3 series from Nikon, or the M series or the S2 from Leica are very difficult to use due to the way software is designed in their cameras, they are designed to take images that will be later used for editing by the photographer which makes them not very beginner friendly, despite their specs. You will not see pretty filters from the lower end cameras on those.

  • and on the 5th day Canon released the 5D MK2...DOH!!!

  • Does somebody know where I can find this video? Does it even excist?

  • its a sentry gun

  • @philliple97 TRUE

  • Sweeeeeeeeeeet

  • amazing.

  • could be almost hd quality if put together i guess :D nice sound man

  • @JSKdrumming

Far higher then HD quality, HD video quality for photo stills is low resolution for todays digital standards.

  • I think a Red One should do the job... And you'll get 14MP@ 120fps! (and RAW of course) :D

  • Great !

  • WOW THAT IS AMAZING! But that kit must cost a LOT!

  • These need to be put together in to a 3888x2592 video.

  • You guys should frame it so it looks all taken from one point , and then make a small video of it with some decent time leaps technique. Would like to see that !

  • what is the best ? 5d mark 3 ? ii ? what does ii stand for ?

  • @masni92 the 5d mark 3 doesnt exist atm. .. the II or the III means the newest version of this camera.. like the canon 1D mark III is older than the mark IV

  • this is amazing stuff.. but why not just use a ultraHD slow motion camera and pick individual frames from that

  • @GOBbluthagain ultraHD slow motion camera cost more then 3 cameras of Canon EOS-1D Mark III :)

  • @GOBbluthagain

Because the quality of a HD Ultra slow motion video camera is no where near as good as SLR camera, HD video printed would look terrible unless it was at a very small size.

  • @TwistLosi Look up for Phamton Flex

  • @htjmartin

Phantom Flex still doesn't have anywhere near the quality of what a top end SLR has for prints, you realize the highest video Phantom Flex can shoot at is 2560x1600 which is only a 4MP still image. Far from ideal for high quality large prints.

  • @TwistLosi I mentioned Phantom Flex because it's high speed camera, the high end DSLR are for photographies, Phantom Flex is for different purpose, of course DSLR offer better still images, but if you want a video footage, then you choose high speed camera. Otherwise all the scientific experiments or movie productions wouldnt choose high speed camera over DSLR

  • machine gun

  • damn i know u get paid good let me work with u

  • those things look like freakin bazookas yo!!

  • Don't build a rig of still-cameras to do a RED ONE's job. I mean, it's kind of fun, and it seems like something I would do if i had extra kit laying around, but for a homerun swing, you want more than 30fps so you can do slow-motion. Elsewise, why bother with such a high resolution shot if you're only talking about 1.73 seconds of video?

  • the military called, they said you copied there turret sounds...

  • if you want to shoot video buy the 5d mark 2, much cheaper and does the same job. They supposedly used it for a few scenes in the new harry potter film, because you get better depth of field! says one of my lecturers anyway haha.

  • Comment removed

  • Buy one of those 1000 fps video camera like on the Discovery channel. Way cooler, less clicking, less work. And don't give me any shit about the Canon's sensor size - It could be 6 MP and you wouldn't be able to tell by clicking through tiny images in a flash gallery.

  • If the end result is going into an online gallery...you're better off shooting with something like a 5D MkII. It'll shoot 1280 x 720 @ 60fps and each frame looks as good as an 18 MP image shrunk to that size anyway.

Seems completely pointless to go through all this. Even in 2007 you'd have been better off with a high speed HD video camera.

  • @kweechy since when does a mark II shoot 60p?

  • @antoinevideoblog

Need to drop the cameras down to 1280 x 720 video mode, then they shoot 60fps. Since this dude is simply using this for a website...I doubt you even need 1280 x 720, let alone 10 megapixels.

  • @kweechy ah, cause I own a 5d mark II and that doesn't seem to be the case. Unless i've missed some kind of firmware update? But yeah he's gone a tad bit tech crazy, really unnecessary for what he wants to produce but I guess its kinda cool that he had a go at it

  • @antoinevideoblog

Oh just put it into video mode and hit menu. In the video formats you should see something like:

    1) 1920 x 1080 24fps

    2) 1920 x 1080 30fps

    3) 1280 x 720 60fps

    4) 640 x 480 60fps

    5) 640 x 480 60fps Crop

  • @kweechy ah you might be thinking of the 7D rather than the 5D Mark II. The only ones i have are -

    1920 x 1080 25p

    1920 x 1080 24p

    640 x 480 25p

  • @antoinevideoblog

Sorry about that then, my T2i has the 60fps choice so I'd just assume the 5D II would as well...maybe because the 5D is a little older? No idea.

  • @kweechy The 5d only has a single digic processor, so apparantly that's why it can't do 60fps, of course the t2i only has 1 processor too, but can do 60fps because it's not full frame so the amount of data it's pushing is less

  • @electriktricks

Why would full frame vs 1.6x matter if the actual megapixel (and thus filesize) is the same?

  • @kweechy the 5d is 21mp, 550 is 18, not a massive difference but i guess they cant get the extra speed out the 5d- maybe the bit depth is higher on the 5d files, I don't know, i'm not a canon engineer...

  • @electriktricks Might not be the electronics problem...today's microprocessors are very fast & miniature. I believe its the problem trying to flick the mirror up & down at that speed would require very precise engineering & high quality materials & powerful servo. The only other camera that can reach 10fps is a mirror-less Sony A55 and selling at a 550D price...so, I believe its the physical limitation instead of electronics.

  • @kopial i guess so, but we are actually both talking about 60fps video- the mirror doesn't move when recording video so it is purely electronic in this scenario

  • @electriktricks ahaha...i thought you guys were talking about 60fps burst!

  • @kweechy in fact, surely theres more photosites on the 5d with it being a physically larger sensor, so naturally its pushing more data to the processors- and i guess because all the resolution must be downsampled to 1080p it cant do it fast enough to do it at 60fps
