I have a 98 navigator, I keep it around for towing all my toys & use it for work alot. I rutinely tow 10,000 lbs with it. I tow a 14' dump trailer, a 16' trailer & Kubota L35 backhoe, my boat & a 7500 lb camper. Even at 13 years old, it's still comfy to drive & when I get her detailed she still looks good. Having been in the towing biz, I knew Fords are tough, that's why just about all light duty wreckers are Fords. That's why I went with the Navigator.
@023338 I did, and I'm not surprised. What does surprise me, or better yet makes me laugh, is that the car HAS a mileage monitor, as if people who buy Navigators give a damn about gas mileage.
@023338 Yeah, who knows. For my old '81 Jeep Wagoneer, 15.8 would've been a fantasy. If I were going downhill in that thing with a good tailwind, I may have scored 10. lol
I personally like this and the 2nd generation Navigators the best. This one isn't as overly retro as the current Nav is, especially the instrument cluster.
i've loved these and expeditions since i was young, but now i look at them and almost throw up, the current gen navigator is totally awesome, the crapillac escalade doesn't come close
My parents just gave me our 1998 navigator. I have to put money in it though. 1,300 for new ball joints connecting rods. Plus for some reason my rear airbags like to sag a little. For me being a 16 year old and to say this thing has almost to much power is a real compliment. all exept for the real time MPG. If i come off a stop sign and get on it at a good pace ill get between. 0mpg with it floored or 5 at a slow acceleration. at cruising speed. 60 with cruisse on i get between 15 and 18.
I love the car, but it was $64,000 then and only about $5,000 now. Plus they were stupid to put the shifter where the winsheild wipers and blinkers buttons should be
That's very true FordCopChrist1995. Most British vehicles including the Range Rover aren't built as well as vehicles from other countries. I'm not saying they're terrible (I like Range and Land Rovers).
Hey what a coincidence that there is a lincoln town car in the back at 2:20. Also how did they have the money to buy a boat right there on the dock?? lol
I was shipped this same video before I took possesion of my 98 Navi back in 1998. I was first in the Baltimore area to have it . It got stares every where I went. It was so new the insurance company didn't know how to insure it at first!
@2:13 I've been there... its in Bar Harbor, Maine !

too bad no rear view mirror
that tends to be a useful tool
instead they put the fucking climate control where the mirror should be
