I've been to Thailand and I tried to order in Thai - not too successfully - and thank goodness the waiter spoke English and explained the menu to me. Maybe you should learn to write in English. Three misspellings and "countries" is the plural of "country", not the possessive. When in Quebec, I speak French as best I can. When in Central America, I speak Spanish as best I can. I even gave Russian a stab when I was in St. Petersburg. They do not go out of their way to speak English to me, but they do help me speak and understand their language better.

Those immigrants take the jobs that we don't want and they're not always necessarily illegal, they just never learned how to speak English. Some people are just visiting. I RARELY see an Asian person, whether they be Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Indian etc... who does NOT know English!!! And NOT ONLY do they have to learn another language, most of them have to learn another alphabet! Why can't the LATINOS learn it?

Maybe you should learn to write in English. Three misspellings and "countries" is the plural of "country", not the possessive. When in Quebec, I speak French as best I can. When in Central America, I speak Spanish as best I can. I even gave Russian a stab when I was in St. Petersburg. They do not go out of their way to speak English to me, but they do help me speak and understand their language better.

America has no official language, you can find that out on google in 30 seconds. They also speak French in Canada. It is a good idea to speak the language that the majority speaks, but it's not a requirement.

If you live in America, yes, you HAVE TO speak English. The government, the police, and most employers won't know how to talk to you if you can't speak English. And the reason we don't speak Native American is because the Indians LOST. If we get conquered, then our language will change. But until then, America is an English speaking nation. It's common sense. You live in a country, you have to be able to speak their language. If you disagree, go to Iraq and speak English.

Maybe if everyone in America was required to learn Spanish then the immigrants could live here. I think they should dedicate half of the school day for children to learn Spanish, and refusal should result in jail-time.

Why should we cater to them when they have better opportunities to learn English, and choose not to learn it? They keep graduating kids that can't speak English, can't get jobs, and deserve to be deported. I say if you haven't learned English in five years, you're out of America.
