mine does the same thing, 17" imac core 2 duo 1.83ghz has the integrated intel graphics. only thing is its opposite of yours, first 1/4 of the screen from left to right is dark black with some color lines sometimes, next 1/4 is just blank off, whole right side is fine. sometimes nothing at all comes on. sometimes it warms up and the lines go away and the left side glitches then comes back. I had it open and pressed on the gpu and came back faster. just tried heat gun still no go. must try clamp

Nope.... I received a call from the local apple reseller and I will get my imac screen repaired by Apple FREE, yes FREE, I sent it to then two weeks ago, so maybe next week my Pirate iMac will be home....
