Cutscenes are where the story is being told and you have no control over whats happening, it is usually in a cinematic form. YOU are thinking cut scene, where something is cut from the game.
This is a bit like Pirates of the caribbean : dead man's chest ! Two guys fishes upp Jacks hat and summons the kraaken and gets eaten by it ! here two guys fishes upp LeChucks boots and summons him and gets hes servants ^^,
@MinhalSyed i've always thought that Pirates of the Carrebean borrowed a lot from Monkey Island atmosphere/humor etc. I couldn't name any direct references but the overall feeling to the movies was pretty similar to the games
It says just this in many interviews with Armato and the creators of Monkey Island III (and one with MI2 creators); that POTC is basically the first three MI games. That's why they didn't make a movie. :(
It's hard to decide, between parts 1-3, which one is my favorite sometimes...although, I think "The Secret of Monkey Island" will always be my favorite one! XD
Anyway, Part 4 was pretty good too but the first three were totally AWESOME!!! IMO

No it's a cutscene. You are not in control of what happens in this sequence. It cuts away from the scene that is the gameplay. Cutscene.

yeah i didn't like part4 as much as the other parts, but part3 in my opinion is the best.
