  • your pan dirty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Has anyone EVER put plain yogurt in their cornbread mixture? I did, cause I did NOT want to throw it away..Anyone else ever try this?

  • @418sadeyes yes ive used yogurt in a pinch. Most of the time yogurt can be used in place of buttermilk

  • This southern girl uses the same amounts of cornmeal and flour.

you know... if you dont like the way she is doing HER youtube post.. go make one of your own..

  • @itsjustdeb579 I agree with you ABSOLUTELY!!! My mother was a good ole Southern girl, and she made it the same way...

  • Nothing like some good ole fashion SOUTH CENTRAL WEDDING CAKE.. =]

  • what is this butter milk?

  • @DukhtareKabuly When cream is taken away from milk, it is churned to make butter...after churning the cream, the butter clumps up and is removed, leaving a liquid called butter milk.

  • ok, thats a fair recipe, but if you want it to be southern you gotta add corn and Jalepenos

  • if u try to eat my corn bread it'll be part 2 of my killin sprea on your ass!!!!

  • @emjaymoggs YOU GONE EAT YO CORNBREAD?

  • @777The777Truth777 Haha that film is what made me look up this video. I've never seen corn bread before and wonder what it tastes like

  • @ojideagu Yeah me to, it looks delicious, but i never had it, i like to watch cooking video's, it makes me hungry, NOM NOM NOM

  • Oh, No...No...No lard, don't even feed this to your dog. With all that butter he wont hunt for a week.

  • yum yum

  • add brown suger ya'll left that out i am the south....

  • I made this, its very delicious everyone loved it. I'm going to make more tomorrow. Thank-you so much for this wonderful recipe.

  • Hahaha I have a sweet tooth, and I DO put sugar in my cornbread (2/3 of a cup to be exact). I'm a New York boy, and if a southerner dines in my house, and I happen to be serving cornbread, DO NOT criticize or complain. Just be happy that I am cooking (from scratch) for you.

  • lynncrum is right - Southerners do not use sugar in their cornbread. I am really surprised this video incorporated the use of a cast-iron frying pan, which is the best way to get a fluffy inside, crispy outside pan of cornbread...at least that's how we do it in North Carolina. I also love to add chopped onions to my batter & fry it in hot oil in a skillet...yuuum!

  • Needs a little sugar but still looks good!

  • Southerners do not use sugar in cornbread!

  • How bout I give you the gun for the cornbread?

  • Add the buttermilk mixture to the flour mixture...moron.

  • ihateana your almost right, traditional southern cornbread is almost 2/3 cormeal with buttermilk and butter and slightly sweetened.Northern cornbread is very sweet,no buttermilk rarely butter and high proportion of white flour

  • Does anyone know where I could find cornmeal in Ireland, could I use polenta or is that just stupid?

  • hi Spacehopper83, Polenta should be fine. It is not stupid to try. You can also grind the dry corn on a blender to the desired grit.

    good lock

  • did you find it

  • That's NOT southern conbread. Southern corn bread uses only corn meal, no wheat flour.

  • Well if your gonna put it in milk for dessert you gotta have a little flour. I thought the ratio for meal to flour was a bit high myself. I think we used a ratio closer to 1 C meal to 1/4 C flour. My grandma liked that sweet yankee cornbread and my mother always made the coarser pan fried bread. I guess I had the best of both.

  • @lhateAna southern corn bread must be inedible, then... hate that corn meal stuff, its like eating sand.

  • @hcvang oh no, it's wonderful. But it has to be cooked properly. Use butter. Or break it up in a bowl of milk.. yum :)

  • Hope they have all the ingrediants in australia?

  • this looks very much like a recipe born north of the mason dixon line to me...

it came from goodhouse keeping, what do you expect?

    something authentic?

    think again

  • i never ate corn bread before but is it good?

  • its good.

  • Hell yeah, it's good!

  • You can get cornmeal in tesco's in the afro-carribean section !

  • where do we get cornmeal in England????!!!!

  • IM Freaking hungry!

  • Yep, this is how you do it! Some greenbeans with new pot., fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, and fried sweetcorn! YUM....my dad died last summer in the hills of Easter, KY. It is so sad this is my first year without all the garden produce.

He was a wonderful gardener and I know his friends and neighbors miss him, he loved to share it all, and took pride in it. When we knew he was dying, I told him it was raining on his garden (it really wasn't but I knew he would never know) he was so happy.

  • mmmm. cornbread

  • yummers!

  • Yes maaaaaam, you have my attention. Now how about a cold glass of Butter Milk to go along with that corn bread? That'll make your tongue slap your brains out!

  • Wats Butter Milk?

  • It's what's left over when they make butter. Hence it's name "buttermilk". It has a tangy taste.

  • I'm drooling here...nice!

  • sounds good

  • Mmmmmmmm
