Nice song, and you did pretty well playing it!
I usually do those 'pedal point' thingies using two strings, trains a lot the alternate picking
I think your tone has the same problem as mine, those really trebble sections don't sound as clean as we think they do...
Try switching to bridge captator? dunno :D
