  • Viper and Python are identicla, they're both made by DEI. What makes one better than the other is who does the installation. There are huge diferrences in the quality of workmanship that really count with these isntalls.

  • i have this alarm...and i love it!! only one problem...i use my remote start button every morning before i leave for work and the remote start button on the two way remote has gotten to the point where i need to dig my finger nail into the remote to get it to start....i would use the one way remote that comes with it but thats tough because it doesnt display the timer....help?

  • how many dollars does that alarm cost, because I don't have a car but since i have a DUI and I can't drive no more but if i get a car I might buy that alarm for the car.

  • @JesusChristRulesYOU well it cost me all together about $900.00

only reason is because i noticed the alarm on this one was a LOT quieter than the alarm i previously had...so i bought an electric air horn and had it installed with my alarm...now it makes so much noise it's awesome !!!

  • 1: Where does the antenna go in the vehicle?

2: If the antenna goes inside, is it big enough to ruin the look of my Mercedes interior?

3: Since it's something every car guy has heard of, does this make it easier for theaves to break into my car?

4: Is it worth replacing my origional alarm system for my 2007 Mercedes CLK?

  • I would like to get a Viper but w/o a remote start. Dont want nothing that the theives already know. Dont want no bypass hidden button because i know the pro car theives look for that. I want something that the theives dont know yet. Hell, i know a co worker that told me how to get around any Viper Car Alarm and stil steal a car! Thats scary.

  • Hi! Love the video. My former baby, a 95 chevy caprice 9C-1 Police intercepter was stolen back in April never to be seen again. It was stolen in front of my parents house, had this happen before with my 89 Chevy Suburban. I now have a 94 Chevy Caprice Police Intercepter and i dont want this to get stolen ( i will never drive it out to my parents house-south side of Chgo). My father has a Viper Alarm on his 87 Chevy Caprice-which he keeps parked in the garage. I am looking for a good alarm.

  • i need help!!! i have this exact system and the 2 way remote has an issue when the battery runs out completely, i recharged it and now the lock&unlock don't work, in the lcd it displays the lock but when i press it nothing happens and then 10 seconds later it makes a buzz sound, just like the buzz sound you get when you are out of range.

    what is wrong with it?

  • @buddyclubs

Try unplugging the antenna that should be attached to your windshield, pressing lock/unlock a few times, then reconnect the antenna. I haven't tried personally on these newer style 2 way remotes, but it worked when the Viper 791 and 771 were in production. Hope it helps if you haven't found a fix!

  • is there a viper alarm that doesn't have the start car feature for a cheaper price? I don't mind using my hand to turn on the key to save some cash. I'm wanting to spend under 150

  • These are great, I had a Viper on my Durango a long time ago, I opted for the talking module "Stand Back, Protected by Viper". Wasn't expensive either.

Loved watching it scare the shit out of people when they got too close.

It started to trip out and started talkin' when trees nearby moved and stuff and became a problem. I'm sure it was the installers fault though due to proximity sensor location or adjustment.

I think Viper / Clifford make great affordable alarms.

  • how do you adjust the impact sensor?? i followed the instructions in the manual and i see no option in the remote menu. im stumped!!

  • I wnat this remote starter Alarm it is very impressive

  • Sounds good. Give us a call,we've been here for 28 years, you'll be in good hands

  • @movinonsounds would the alarm sound if the window was busted on this unit? just curious I recently had my window smashed and gps unit stolen.

  • How sensitive is this thing...If someone opens a door into my car will it alarm me...Would i be able to make just my pager go off and not the car sometimes???

  • It will absolutely go off if someone manages to get your door open, and it will page you. Also, you can set it to "baseball bat mode" (that's what the installers call it) so just your pager goes off and not the alarm. You can then approach the unsuspecting intruder with a baseball bat. All of these settings are available directly from the remote.

  • @movinonsounds NICE!!!! And he the crook can't sue us right???

  • Can you have it alert you silently?

  • is there a way to lock the remote so when its in ur pocket you wont accidentally smart the vehicle or unlock it?

  • The button that remote starts, is indented on the remote, it would be impossible to do it accidentally.

If you'd like more info, give the store a call @ 516-489-2350

    thanks-

  • @jcballer1333 yes u can in the main menu

  • With this remote you need to carry your wall charger outlet to recharge your main 2 way remote... Withe the Viper 5900 if battery wase dead you could stop at any garage, or store open 24/24 and buy a AAA battery of left a brand new pack of 2 in the glove box! So now on top of thonking to rechrage your cell phone, your GPS, now you must think te recharge also the Viper remote.... Not impress at all Viper 5900 wase simple and effective!

  • I tried that one and I am not impress with the sound level of the remote dose when sonding for an intrusion it is not loud, The viper 5900 sound louder and vibrate you could left your remote in an other room and hear as well. No more belt clip, This remote is too fragile and on the companion one at install I open the back cover and the 4 thny claw retaining the back cover to the remote broke.Cheap product, Viper 5900 wase much better, you can't add aux input and make say or display on screen

  • Viper 5900 is much simpliet to operate no Function button to mixup very realiable and easy to install less programming at install. so end user wont try different combinaison and then comback at the install shop again and again for help cause they did not understand all fonction on the remote, not all end user are good with technologie, they should left available the Viper 5900 on the market.

  • hey mate how can i order it?is there any other place where i can order it,i live in india.

  • Does this remote start alarm work with carb. motors

  • If your carb is electric chock then it may i am wondering the same.

  • On the box it says only for use with fuel injected vehicles but I would suggest asking an installer so that you know for sure.

  • The unit is designed for fuel injected vehicles because vehicles with carburetors require that you pump the gas pedal before starting. An actuator can be installed to do this before starting. This is not recommended or supported by Viper but it works if done properly.

  • i had a remote starter installed on my 1980 cadillac for several years, and never had a problem. if the car had been sitting for the whole night, then it wouldn't start, as i'd have to pump the pedal a few times, but any time during the day it would, after the initial start. if your carbureted car doesn't start after it's been driven a few hours, then get a tune-up... it should start right up.
