Not too many years ago there was a meta-search engine called KartOO that pesented data in the same way. Did Google purchase this technology/concept from KartOO?
Didn't the original version of youtube , had this feature? dont know y did they removed it. It was so much fun viewing random video..... now its all tailor made what they want us to watch...
I love wonder wheel, it has been the right arm of my online research when I'm brainstorming related ideas. Please integrate wonder wheel into a Chrome addon! Or create an option to always search with wonder wheel on. I would love a one click solution, or an always on ability.
I just made stir fry last week, too. The ultimate go-to food for the lazy person cooking for themselves. I "wonder" where this "wheel" will turn...nevermind, I can't think of a good pun.
Wonder wheel in the sky keeps on turning?
Maybe you're gonna be the one that saves me
And after all, you're my wonder...wheel?
And hey, I think he's attractive and articulate :)
I like the idea of wonderwheel, but I don't like that you've used Flash to implement it. Seems like the lazy approach and not like Google at all.. Should be done using "ordinary" DHTML instead...
I'd like to see the same kind of navigation but for my exploration of the web. Currently I bookmark everything that I plan to come back and explore. It would be cool to just save the session and see the things I indicated interest in. If I explore a tangential thread, I could easily resume the thread I started to research.
Opera Internet Browser can save sessions and when you turn off you computer, you start opera and it asks you to choose a saved session, to continue from last time you used or to start with homepage.
Thats cool. I was thinking have the "mind map" persistent. That way you could explore tangential topics of interest, yet resume your initial research by just clicking in the map at the point where you diverged. Now you either have to open a new window if you see something interesting, but not relevant to the task at hand, or use the back button a number of times to get back where you were. Also, it would help them build out their semantic web, as users would be indicating tangential topics.
This is what some pseudo scientists have been calling semantic web (or web 3.0 - sic!) and have been spending quite some money trying to build it. Apparently, Google is working towards is behind our back... just look how hidden this option is. I'm sure they're testing the waters this way to see how people feel about related searches. Boy, they're smart!
Very nice tool, same it half of the results screen, should of been on top of the text with some show hide button.
I think that the topics are trivial, expected beter consolidation of the data, it seems that it just gives you the top percentage of topics, it results to topics that are relatively similar.
Take for example the search for the term 'bond', I expected to have both stock market results and some James Bond related results.
Hope this feature will improve but I think it is not yet usable
good question, luckily for me i dont have a mac cuz chrome is such a good browser its not even funny how much it kills IE, never really got into firefox though..
oh and i am a market researcher and since the wheel has been out, its probably the second or third place i go for information now

Mind Mapped search results, wow. I honestly didn't think you people could get any more impressive. As an avid mind mapper, all I have to say is...
!!!-{Hail Google}-!!!
When you guys take over the world, can I have YouTube? C'mon, you won't even miss it. OK, OK, then can I have Picasa instead?
