@all Jesus was surely divine and so are you. He tried to teach that and gave fantastic hints how to touch on your own divinity (like forgiving, not judging, living in the now). The story of his ressurection is hardly a proof as we now know that it was later added to the gospels. But who needs proof? Feel the love. The love of this songwriter is overwhelming and is beyond all religions. Cohen, thank you so much for your love! This world needs it beyond all religions and nations.

e61807...Cohen is a poet-songwriter .... doesn't have to believe in every word that he composes into a song. His reference to Jesus is a metaphor.

You shouldn't be confused. Cohen is a non-practicing Jew - like many other people who my be believers of aspects of a religion but don't participate in the daily rituals. And upon his death, Jesus remained a Jew; he was never a Christian, nor has anyone EVER presented one shred of evidence that Jesus was divine. Do you have any?

I am confused. First of all Cohen is a Jew who does not accept the divinity of Christ. In an interview once he dodged the question and seemed intellectually lost. He was saved by one of his cult followers, who dare not question their God even when caught in a contradiction, from a statement in the same interview. He stated before this that his Jewish faith was still important to him, though he didn't keep all the rituals. "Christ was just a good man , not divine" WALKED ON WATER? NOT DIVINE?
