  • NICE PICKIN´ SON !

I always have wanted to hear all that bluegrass picking, in a guitar sounding way, since I saw a

5 string accostic Martin guitar in a book called "MARTIN GUITAR HISTORY".

Some say that this isn´t a BANJER, but to me, the 5th string makes is so. Because tho´ it may look like a guitar, you APPROACH it like a BANJO.Right ? You don´t automaticlly start playing Scruggs Banjo licks on a 6 string guitar, do you ? No you don´t,not even on a 6 string BANJO-GUITAR. Its the APPROACH !

  • Would like to hear a good picker play an old Dillard's number called "Redbone Hound" on this banjo with some fuzz thrown in!

  • Doesn't sound like a banjo, but if I could get my guitar to sound like that I would be soooo happy

  • I've seen a banjo like that and to me it's just not a banjo without the drum.

  • it doesnt sound much like a banjo, but i totally love the design!!! :D

  • hello jerry...

  • doesn't really sound like a banjo atall.

  • what song was that?

  • soooo good

  • that banjo is way to bright for my ears, it neads a tone knob. but don't get me wrong, it's fuckin' cool to say the least!

  • It'd be sweet to hear some old school Scruggs, played with FINGERPICKS!!! on this banjo. Then crank up the distortion and the reverberation..... that'd be awesome.

  • I want one. Where can I get it?

  • Can you play original banjo tunes on it to?

  • @MrTrainfanatic w yathink?

  • where abouts do I find a set of pickups that takes 5 strings not 6? Would i be best to make my own?

  • Hello Newman

  • that's crazy, man. your strumming was neat.

  • lol, nice shirt.

  • where you get them

and how much :P?? comment bk !!:P

  • how much does that cost and where can i get it?

  • Cool thing.

  • I think the Deering crossfire is the closest to true electrified banjo tone. But this instrument sounds nice, and I bet it is fun to play.

  • It even has a cutaway! that is just plain radical! I know that it sounds like a banjo but, how is it one? What is the line between guitar and a banjo? (besides the strings of course) One more thing is it hollow bodied? I'd just like to know...

  • Well, the way its shaped and made, it has the classic 5 stringed banjo look. 4 full legnth strings and then the one that goes a little over halfway up the neck.

  • It does sound like an electric guitar, but I love it. Just put down a big bid for it, too.

  • Sounds just like a Lectric guitar???

  • Essentially, it is an electric guitar with only 5 strings. Just a small body, semi hollow guitar with an electric guitar pickup.

    It looks fairly small too.

  • well all stringed instruments can sound very similar if amplified the same

  • Don't get me wrong, Im not putting the instrument down. What you mentioned is why there aren't a large surgence of electric banjos. To get the true banjo tone you have to have a head and pot setup. Hard to put pickups on a plastic or skin head. You can put acoustic pickups which translate vibration into sound, or pickups that take that vibration and run through a synthesizer of sorts to make electric tones.I know companies like Nechville, Deering, and Goldtone make electric banjos.
