@bobetteboo Higurashi has quite a ridiculous amount of story because of all the separate fragments that branch off into their own story lines. Elfen Lied has a single straightforward story line. So, if you want more blood I'd suggest Elfen Lied. If you wanted more story and feeling I'd suggest Higurashi. (Not saying Elfen Lied doesn't have feeling, because it has quite a bit at times, but I just feel for the characters in Higurashi so much more. Personal view. )

The fact they can be compared lies in bloodshed, EL has more bloodshed than story, which is exactly why I like Higurashi better. (Just to back up my opinion.)

Racism, alienation, misunderstanding, prejudice, hate, anger, violence.. the parity, in which one must contend, whether to consider a murder a insane person or something society created. Higurashi, is a struggle, ...that goes beyond time. Whether we like it or not, a world of contradiction, were belief, is unquestionable.. indoctrination, all this, with the essence humanity.. what is right and wrong.. black and white that been grey..

but higurashi is also by far Amazing, with friendship & i did enjoy it more then elfenlied, but it was more about friendhip & never losing hope. sorta like wolfs rain

It's nice how these pictures were made. Like how people have said there is light in darkness, and vice versa, there's another way to look at it:

Hanyuu and Rika stand back to back, witnessing the things that they normally see. But if they were to turn around, they would "look through each other's eyes". The artist was very clever in making these pics.

There is a counterpart of this picture. Yokan. Hanyuu's side is she sees all the dead people and she couldn't do even anything. Just watching and apologizing ( you know.. footsteps and gomennasai. gomennasai.) Rika's side is when the wind blows her face, giving an expression of bad things coming (or so).
