I have a Kona as well and lots of other people do that love them. I agree with alot of others. These bikes more than likely broke due to poor assembly, riding with loose parts, and people using them for other things that their intentional use. Riding with a loose headset can break any frame off a big drop.

I don't think this breakages are due to poor build. It is due to poor usage. Like the guy who flat drops the stairs has probably flat dropped that bike on lots of other stuff which is not good. Also alot of people abuse these bikes. I have a Stinky which is like 5 years old. It still runs fine and it has been run on things like the Fort William WC course. Well I have had to replace some parts like brakes but that is not anything like these bikes... They have just been abused.

I have a kona scrap with 2009 rock shox boxxer world cups. Peolpe say never put triples on a hardtails or anythin over 160mm travel. Kona needs to modify thier headtube designs. Why don't de make them like Azonic frames. Azonic welds a plate to the headtube, downtube and toptube. This distributes the weight better. DMR and Iron Horse do it too btw. Worst thing that can happen is the frame bending. hmm, I'll choose a bending frame over a breaking frame anyday. Saves you a trip to the hospital. So you guys sticking up for Kona. Be my guesst, but I prefer a bike wich CAN handle some hard riding.
