Okay you guys, you have to understand that the NBA wants a big market team to make it to the finals (Look at the last 25 years of champions).

It's all about ratings. Portland is a small market and it would cost the NBA millions of dollars if the Blazers advance. Yao doesn't get more than four fouls a game (league rules).

The Rockets are in trouble. If they can't find a way to get Yao more involved in the offense, they'll lose the series. You can't expect Scola to keep outplaying Aldridge and Brandon Roy to keep going 6-18 in this series. That happened in game 3, and the Rockets only won by 3, AT HOME. If they can't find a way to get Yao more scoring opportunities, the Blazers will take this series.

Well Aldridge is supposed to outplay Scola, he's better, and as for Roy, he is the best player in this series. Granted, neither of them are as good as they played in game 2, but neither is Brooks, who is averaging 20 PPG in this series.

Bottomline, it's much tougher for Houston to stop Roy and Aldridge than it is for Portland to stop Yao and Artest. That's a FACT. As far as role players go, Brooks has been the leading scorer, but you can't count on an inconsistent player to win you a series.

Yall? I'm actually a Rockets fan, and I've been watching Brooks play for 2 years now, and yes he is inconsistent. Yao is easier to stop than Brandon Roy, this is not even debatable. Roy, 27 PPG on 46% shooting, Yao 14 PPG on over 60% shooting, BUT because of the fronting, he's only gotten 9 PPG on 2.5 out of 6.5 FGA per game in the last 2. The Rox wont win this series if they have to keep relying on Scola and Brooks to outplay Aldridge and Roy because Yao and Artest keep getting shut down.

oh ya to tell you, artest wasnt shut down game 3. he just deferred to his teammates the whole time. he took no shots in the 1st half yet the rox still came out of it 47-38. yao was shut down because his teammates would not get him the ball period. a player gets shut down when the defense is great, NOT when all the defense is doing is fouling yao. HENCE the 6 fouls on oden, 5 on przybilla and 5 on aldridge in game 3. let us not forget the 6 on roy. they are not a defensive team. they just hack.

By this metric, the rockets clearly dominated the series. By this measure, the Blazers have only lead/won in 3 out of a possible 12 quarters, where as the rockets have led/won in 8/12.

I think that the only way the Blazers are gonna win this series is to luck out another 3 close wins.

That's because Portland came out and took a CRAP on their homefloor in their first playoff game. If you think the Rockets are that much better than Portland, then LOLOL @ you. This series could easily be 2-1 Portland, so chill out with your "who won what quarter" stats. All the luck was on the Rockets' side in game 3.

That was the truth, Even tonight, Aldridge and Roy outscored Yao and Artest 50-33. It's a good thing that guys like Wafer, Lowry, Scola, Landry and Battier stepped it up tonight, and lets not forget, CHUCK WAGON!

in this series it is harder to guard the paint than the perimeter. . look at the blazers. all they do is shoot jumpers. because yao gets their players into foul trouble, they dont play inside therefore are inable to pull off massive runs especially on the road when its hard to get in a rythim. that is y yao is harder in this series to guard. yao got 20+ points this game with putting that blazer frontcourt in foul trouble. roy scored 30 yet no perimeter player was in foul trouble.

It's not just that. The Blazers don't have anyone that can post up and score. Aldridge tried it tonight, but all he ended up doing was taking long fadeaways.

Roy was terrific again, the Rockets just don't seem to have an answer for him. It wont matter though, because they're doing a good job on everyone else. As long as Yao keeps getting his touches, and the Rockets keep winning the battle on the boards, they'll win this series.

the rox had the adv on roy in 3 of the 4 games ya the games they won. they had it when it counted. the last minute where chuck took the charge. in games 1 & 3. the only game they didnt have it vs him at any point in the game was game 4. yet they only won by 4. has to be discouraging for the blazers. the only way the blazers are winning this series is if they stop shooting all those jumpshots especially on the road. they never get easy baskets.
