i salute, those men, i jus got back in October from afghanistan back to new zealand, i served along side unit 455 EFSC in Kabul my brothers left in October to serve for 6months im from ISAF(International Security Assistance Force) Whiskey Unit, even though im not from Afghanistan i believe every country deserves a chance to experience freedom, and ill go down making sure that people black or white get their freedom

I'm enlisting in the Marines as infantry. I just told my Dad about it and he said, well why would you want to see combat? And I said, because I've never done a thing worth doing before, it's my only shot to do something worth while and come back a hero either way. And he said, well if it's really what you wanna do son, I'll stand by your decision 100%. I've never felt so proud talking to my father before.

@YargItsAPirate hey bud, i was in the same situation ur in. but i called the Marine recruiter an set up a meetin an had my mom go with me. to my surprise she said yes and went with me. i had a full ride to Hobart Welding School but to me being a Marine will better me in ways the school wont an its my dream to be a U.S. Marine. i explained that to her an she understood my point of view. sometimes ya just gotta go and explaine how ya feel an what ya want for life. every branch of the military is important in the defense of our great country. no one branch is more important than the others, and they are all brothers no matter what. my father served in the corp during well & Korea,and an uncle served in vier man, two others served in the army during well, and I have lots of friends i.e. the guard. point is they are all AMERICAN SOLDIERS, and everyone problem deserve our thanks and our respect.
@emericandude4: i am in the coast guard, and it seems every few places i go and start talking to someone, they dont realize that the CG is a branch of the military. at the same time, the CG is a VERY important branch in that they save our civilians first hand. i dont see any other branch performing SAR cases...

my first born son is a soldier in the United States Army. He has reenlisted. Has served in Iraq and is off to Afghanistan in January 2012. I pray that he comes home safely again.

In addition, if you take away their bombs, the Air Force is just another FedEx. The best use for a Marine is to stand them at the top of a hill to tell me which way the bullets are coming from, the Army can carry my ruck for me, and the Navy makes good doctors and cooks. The Coasties, well, I don't quite know what they are good for other than rescues at sea.

my family is the definition of a true military family every man is or was in a branch of the military and im proud to be called their daughter, neice, cousin, and granddaughter. I have had family members die in battle and its so horrible. Go military men and women and come home safe

It's true not every man lives but they don't die for no reason. I would rather die serving my country than get hurt on the street fighting over something stupid like comments on youtube. And no matter what branch of the military you're in they all protect us no branch is better than another. My brother is in the coast guard maybe not the most important branch of the military but still crucial to our saftey. Never make fun of any branch of the military because they all protect us equally

my first born son is a soldier in the United States Army. He has reenlisted. Has served in Iraq and is off to Afghanistan in January 2012. I pray that he comes home safely again.

I really did not relax until he was close to coming home from over there, (no more missions). In addition, if you take away their bombs, the Air Force is just another FedEx. The best use for a Marine is to stand them at the top of a hill to tell me which way the bullets are coming from, the Army can carry my ruck for me, and the Navy makes good doctors and cooks. The Coasties, well, I don't quite know what they are good for other than rescues at sea.
The hardest mothers i had the pleasure of working with, US Air Force Pararescue. their only mission is Search and Rescue...

@btroglen1 The Navy and Marine Corps are separate branches, same departments. I'm a U.S Marine. I didnt enlist with the Navy and get sent to the Marine Corps. I enlisted with the Marine Corps and stayed in the Marine Corps.Semper Fi.
