I like to maintain a neutral stance but recalling back to when this happen I did think Georgia was the antoganist of this story, south ossetia the princess and Russia a chivalrous prince with a huge shiny army.

All Americans do not feel that way. I am American, born and raised, and do not feel any sense of superiority complex. I think that this recent military outbreak only proves that the US is not what most make it out to be. I love my country, but the truth is the truth no matter what. And I couldn't agree more about your WWII comment. Hitler was undefeated until the USSR and the battle for Stalingrad. The Soviets got to Berlin before the US did too. We did, however, defeat Japan alone. 8)

It was not planned in Moscow, but in Washington.
USA are financing Georgia for some years now, just to gain a partner against Russia.
It's so hard to see ur Homecountry hated by the whole Western World. Still thers much predjudice (dunno the spelling of dat word) against Russians and Russia is seen exactly the same like THe S.Union was.
The only country that really backups Russia a little is China but if China wont need Russia anymore they'll stab them in the back... thats sure...

Russia had planned this. It did everything to make Georgia attack. Finally Sakaashvili made an error and ordered Georgia's troops to attack. Russia's response was immediate. It told a BIG lie about genocide and ordered its troops to attack Georgia. Russia now occupies large parts of Georgia and controls traffic there. Obviously Russia wants to keep its troops there forever.
Lesson:The West should protect all the countries threatened by Russia. Strong Western troops should be sent to Georgia.

Over 2000 South Ossetians died after Georgia fired with 20 BM-21's on Shinvale.
Russia didn't attack immediately - it called off 3 UNO meetings but for nothing. Ther wasn't made any descision and then Russia had to fight BACK, cuz if not there would be an even larger genocide.

What ?? georgia started attacking cuz they had enuf of this crap . russia wanted payback because georgia didint wanted to be with russia anymore , and georgia gaved them so many chances to quit the war russia even signed a contract to quit the war but they still attacking . I know it was a bad move when georgia attackd but they had enuf of this . russia playid the boss over georgia .

Molattow: There is NO evidence that 2000 S. Ossetians dies. It is surely 85 % KGB-Putin propaganda. Of course some Ossetians died but why on earth had they fired Georgian troops before thìs? Russia attacked immediately. It had hoped that Georig attacks. Russia did not wait until UN meeting is arranged. Russia only wanted that UN condemns Gerogia based on lies presented by Russia. Stand corrected...US had two major conflicts, Panama and the Malvina Islands. That's pretty close to US soil. Most countries around the US are stable and have no intentions in overtaking or conquering eachother.

I don´t think that the NATO, FRANCE, BELGIUM, the EU, the USA and the press of SPAIN (TVE) that was directly to Georgia to transmit live information and there are journalists who their life are in risk, are not saying the truth.
