He doesnt have a kill SWITCH, but something that tracks your UDID and when you download / install a blacklisted app your iPhone or iPod or iPad it terminates your device because those apps are blacklisted for a REASON! And the killswitch disable in SBSettings should be illegal. Hope I cleared something up. (NOTE: This is true. My brother did it once to see if I was right. His iPod got completly shutdown and could not connect to iTunes. He is dumb sometimes.)
they cant because jailbreaking is legal, its your device you paid for it so it gives you the right to do what you want with it the only thing apple can do is void its warranty
I think if they c u hav a cracked app n ur iTunes library they can dispose of it. And it would be very legal if there was a killswitch because hacking your iPhone breaks your end user license agreement. It doesn't void your warranty because they can service it if they wanted to but they against jailbreaking thier products.
Macint0shHD is so right, no 1 would want an iphone if there was such a thing.
And AT&T and o2 would lose millions of money in like ten mins and the public would have to get them through it. i dunno about in America but o2 takes massive pride of being the ONLY high street retailer to sell it. so o2 would be pissed at Apple too
There is a app kill but nothing steve jobs does it is built into the iphone there is a way to disable it but i cant remember ... i leave mine activated and still have no problems
dude hel me Will installing cracked apps this work for ipod touch 2.1 with itunes 8.0? I've tried doing this to my ipod touch and after all that work, my ipod froze. I had to restore it and jailbrake it again. This whole process took me around an hour to do. I don't know if I should try it again.
will installing apps without having install not even one free app from the ap store work for putting cracked apps pliz help
but when your iphone is jailbroken, I think the spy robot on your iphone deactivates.
but if your iphone isn't jailbroken, and you hack it and putting on some files, Steve Jobes will kill your iphone (I dunno if it is "kill" the right word, but yeah that's it)
Because when YOU buy something with YOUR MONEY. It is yours, and yours forever, you can do whatever the fuck you want with it and the person that sold it to you can't do shit about it.
For example, if I sell you a car and you do stuff to it that I don't like, would I be in just to go and push the car off a cliff, even after you bought it? No.
sry i have to right another message casue there is not enough room on the other one. but as i was saying u can disable the kill switch by installing bossprefs onto ur 2.0.1jailbroken ipod or iphone then u just go into bossprefs and click on the more button at the top right and at the bottom it says disable apple killswitch and u just click if u dont like it for some reason and it blocks the killswitch.
ty i thinlk u might have it wrong there is a kill switch. but the kill swtich is for if there was some type of malicous or some other type of bad software on your ipod tht u got from a app from the appstore.the kill swtich would autimcatically erase all sowftware on the iphone and ipods so the malioucs software wouldnt damage it. the kill switch is not a bad thing its kinda good it could keep your ipod or iphone from breaking or being corrupted.also u can dissable the kill switch.
Steve jobs himself said that they can remotely erase/disable iphone applications. They can't break your phone, or anything like that. But they CAN remotely disable apps ACCORDING TO STEVE JOBS.
hey wassup man. i tried it all and nothing works. i currently am using a 1.1.4 iphone and i click do it all in the ziphone software then it puts my phone into recovery mode and it just stays there. i tried the win pwn and it says putting iphone into recovery mode and then just freezes.. please help!!!

you fucking noobs are soooooooooooo stupid go brick ur iphone's lol there is nooooooooo way jobs has a killswitch seriously its not possible if you bought a iphone you can unlock it or do what ever you want with it stupid noobs i hope all ur iphones brick lol
I SO HOPE U ARE RIGHT TY BUT THIS IS WHAT I CAME ACROSS;

Haha, the problem is that Steve has confirmed that there is a "kill switch", BUT: people has misunderstood what the "kill switch" is... Its not actually a killswitch, its more like a last security solution from Apple. Its a service on the iPhone that recieves information from apple once in a while, so that if Apple finds viruses/spyware or other bad things in the code of the applications on the Appstore, they can easily delete the app from all iPhones that have it, so that everything is secure.
i don't know if anyone watches the colbert report (which is funny shit by the way) but he did a report about the "biggest threat" and this was #1. it was obviously a joke and colbert was basically making fun of the whole situation..it was funny as shit tho!
actually, there is a REAL "kill switch" but not for the uses people are saying these days.
it allows apple to REMOTELY remove software from your iPhone/iTouch (i.e. applications, illegal/pirated stuff) but it doesn't really do crap right now. although it isn't confirmed, apple (in the future) may be able to look at our contents of apple products connected to 3G wifi etc and report us for any illegal content.
it's not that bigga deal but keep in mind that apple is filled with pricks.
possibly, but highly HIGHLY far fetched.there is the potential of having a device like this, because the government and cops use things like this in sting operations, but as far as small scale like the ipod touch or iphone. Cmon people, with how many of these are released, it is crazy to think that they would waste there time checking everyones device. its crazy talk people. just to scare people into not being illegal. YOU ONLY LIVE ONCE, LIVE ON THE EDGE. (even though 3g is better. its a joke)
i hear ya, but even though apple may not be the best, it is by far the most popular, so with the millions of users that they have it would take them so much time and money to do that, plus im pretty sure that you would need to agree to something new (apart from the first EULA when you agree to instal itunes) when they implement this. and the money it would take, they would need to hire thousands of new staff to work on it, so all in all they wouldnt get any extra money from stopping cracked apps
Arent they not even allowed to do that? Like kill your ipod. I think they are allowed to kill all the cracked apps and jailbreaking stuff but not actauly stop it from working.
no there is a "kill switch" but it doesnt kill the phone its a black list for source apps that apple has installed but no one knows if its active yet or if it even works but its in the iphone not sure about the touch though
