On that table saw I would move that switch to the front of the saw, I sure as hell don't want to be reaching over the blade to turn it on or off. Great idea for adding a grinding wheel and such but that switch is definitely not in a safe place. I haven't been able to afford to goto yard sales but in the past I have found extremely great deals. I bought an old Craftsman 1HP 1/2" shaper for $40, and a 12" Craftsman Band Saw for $75 a couple years ago, both work great and saves a couple grand.
What's the coolest thing about all that stuff, probably says Made in the U.S.A.. Couldn't find any of that stuff new now a days to say that. Thanks for the Video
hey there, well ecp was right I went right at the end of summer to a really big flea market knowing what i was wanted and I really pissed my wife off. But I picked up a bad ass marlborow 70 liter hiking back pack, 4 sleeping bags, 1 set of acu bdus, a medium wood axe, military rain coat, another columbia rain jacket, and some other stuff and spent only 40 bucks. I was happy as hell. so he was right 100% Also i am going to do what a another youtube prepper did and have a contest on my yt site.
Nice to see your excitement finding treasures and deals. The real pros show up a day early, lie and say they can't make it the next day and ask to see what you are selling.. they scoop up all the deals. The sellers are glad to get rid of it. Then the Semi-pros show up way early the next day wait for an hour then come to find out the good stuff sold the day before. I have years of experience garage saling, and really know the tricks.
Unlike Sheila6325, I would not say that the Cutco knife is the most valuable. That designation would, IMO depend on the use it is being put to. The Cutco is a very decent knife for a "Stainless Steel" variety, but I was raised by a man who didn't consider a knife "SHARP" unless you could shave with it and I have never found a stainless steel knife that will hold a "true" razor's edge and you CAN put one of those on the older carbon steel knife that you bought. Nice video though, Keep them up
@JagdtygerII I love old carbon blades and think they are the best. I have several stainless blades that will hold an edge, but nothing works like an old high carbon. Thanks for watching.
Your Cutco Trimmer sells for over $100.00! I have had mine since 1966 and it's never been sharpened, and still cuts better than any other knife someone may have given me. I say that, because I won't buy anything but Cutco. All the others have eventually gotten tossed. Your made some awesome deals and I love it when someone saves a bundle on items someone doesn't want or need.
@ImRamro I've missed you too, my husband just got out of the hospital after over 8 months, so comments have been very few, but I still had time to watch now and then. Your videos are always a help to me, so I'm almost always watching, even if I can't comment. I had been trying to get to our local thrift place for a while they have great deals, and this video got the juices flowing to get back out there. Amazing Deals you got there, Congratulations!
Umm if you get something thats worth $700 brand new still in brand new condition for only $5 then chances are they are stolen. Someone that doesn't know what they cost originally probably would have no reason to have them in the first place and if the person did know what they were worth, they probably wouldn't be selling them that cheap. Christ a quarter of original price most people would have probably thought was a great deal
@KellyVisionPictures It seems more people are selling awesome stuff now that the economy is going down hill. I know I have sold a thing or two I did not want to part with..... Thanks!
I'd like to have been at that garage sale. I just paid over $2.00 a piece for grade 8 bolts for my teardrop trailer. And Victornox knife. Or how ever you spell it. They make Swiss Army knives. Good deals.
ATTN CAREFUL WITH THE BOLTS. the chinese have made and dumped in the US market a lot of bolt giving them a higher grade them they really are it become a VERY SERIOUS issue when it came to airplane repair. Just a tip.
@casualvic LOL, of course I knew I could save money, I just didn't go garage sale shopping before this. I purchase most of my stuff through Craig's list or the net. The last garage sale I went to years ago had used items they were selling for store prices. I guess I thought it would be the same, so I never went garage sale shopping again. Now that I am garage sale shopping again people must be hurting for money because I have found some great deals.
@ImRamro I use my chop saw for cutting steel too - just have to watch the sparks, they can make a hot mess.
I found that garage sales come in two flavors (1) they want to get rid of stuff or (2) they want to make money. I figure out in one minute which one it is and pop smoke if it is the latter.
Craigslist has been impossible for me; nobody wants to return emails or phone calls. Ebay has become a little pricey; maybe it's time for me to hit the garage sales again - thanks!
@MAINEPREPPER No sweat, good luck! There are some great friends I have met out there in Maine. What is it with you guys being do down to earth in Maine, lol. Thank you!
@teenprepper96 That is what I was thinking when I saw it. I know that you can do a lot with a small knife, but when butchers process a cow or other large piece of meat, they use large knives like these. I sharpened it and you can shave with it now. It was a great find, thank you for watching.
@ImRamro You got that right, my grandmother and grandfather would sharpen that blade until it was only a 1/2 inch wide, and skin a dear or a tomato just fine! And being carbon it will sharpen easy and strike a spark quite fine!
@KarlEastwood64 Sash clamp? Thank you, I can use them to make picture frames and to bind something large together, but I did not know the name of the tool. Thank you for the info, I will use these to make my daughter some art frames soon. She enjoys painting and the frames are crazy expensive.
wow !!! check out yard sales !!!!... what a breakthru idea !!!!.... what would we do without this type of groundbreaking -out of the box thinking !!! yes I agree you must thank the provider for the utter brilliance of that info !!!
@HackerGuitarist LOL, It was a break through ideal for me. I rarely go to garage sales and just figured all I would find was junk. I took a chance and scored some great items. I know the comment was probably meant to be sarcastic, but I will never look at garage sales the same, Thanks.
@purity4all Usually check Craig's list for local estate sales. Some garage sales are awesome but the ones in the middle of no where and estate sales are the best. oh btw...California.
@ImRamro Thanks. No wonder you have good yard sales. I'm from rural Florida, usually not much to find a the yard sales around here.Even the flea markets aren't usually al that great.
@purity4all Every one here is broke. Houses have fallen from 400K to 100K in a matter of a year. People have their priorities and right now is a great time to help some one out as well as gathering some great prepping items.
@ImRamro Yeah everyone is broke here too I guess the difference is people around here have always been broke, now they're just more broke. They never had much worth selling to begin with, now that they've already sold what they could there's nothing but junk left and they're still trying to sell it. I keep my eyes open though every once in a while someone surprises me.
hey there buddy did you ever get back to work. I love it up here in the mountains at my new place. Shoot me an email @ plottbeardogs@yahoo.com that is if you know who it is.
@mrmilleniumproof I am usually not driving around in the mornings on the weekend, NOT ANY MORE!

The trick with "garage sales" is to show up at 4:30am.
The pro's hit them at dawn, clear out all the stuff with resale value.
The next trick would be to hit them late when the people are ready to sell whatever is left for $2 "take the lot"
mryellow123 3 months ago
dang I need to come there and go garage saling with you bro. you got hooked up.

Not only is the Cutco worth $100, but it is guaranteed forever. You can send it in for sharpening or replacement. You scored big with that one.
