  • yea...I plan on going to Liberia this fall, I meet a beautiful Liberian girl at Buduburam refugee camp in Ghana...I want to go see her soon...she looks a lot like the girl at 3:40, they could be twins.

    btw...I was in USMC 1983-1987...Camp Lejeune '84-'86

  • - she's on Bushrod Island.

  • Sorry I didn't see/reply to this brother.

My last duty-station was MCAS Cherry Point. I have a good friend in Monrovia who works for the Trinity Dental Health Clinic.

Yeah, the girl you're talking about at 3:40 was/is Veronica one of my housegirls. She needed a beer.

  • Ah Liberia,

What a beautiful country, it made me feel so alive.

Served there with Irish U.N. forces, I'll go back someday to see how she's getting on.

  • When were you there? I remember the Irish Reac Bn. Were you with them? I was there in 2005. Seems so long ago but it never leaves you. I can see it resonated with you too. I have a good friend there now working with Mercy Ships, and NGO. Thanks for the comment.

  • I was there during November 05-April 06.

Yeah I was in the Rapid reaction batt 94th and the Swedes as well, that was the best bunch of fellas, I've ever worked with.

  • I have never been to Liberia, but it seems like you had an amazing experience. Thanks for sharing!

  • Best place I ever lived.

    1974-81. What a great country...respect.

  • bah dis my first time knowin dat a liberian man listens to metal rock music, but u know, dats not a problem, if u do heavy metal and u recording urself, send it to me and i'll upload it 4 u,

  • ben there done that, want to go back

  • My intention for the vid was more of a reflection from my VERY short time in Liberia with UNMIL. I was not there for any of the 14 years that the country went through. It's a beautiful country that VERY much cares for the United States. My stay there taught me what to be thankful for.

  • do you remember our civil war in the states? these measures of war are taken when there is no more alternatives. it is sad, but on the same note they are a way of proving there is a different way needed to find. liberia will be a great country with oppurtunities for themselves and the rest of the world. liberia , my heart and prayers are with you and your people. peace in truth

  • I wish Liberia move forward from now on.

  • Sweet Liberia.... for true. Sweet sweet memories...

  • Thak you plenty for coming oh!

  • perfect summary of the actual situation in my beloved country Liberia

  • Son, I can feel your pain and sorrow for all the children and friends you left back in Liberia when I view this video. I also understand your joy in servicing the children and people of Liberia...God help and bless them all. Oso
