  • Try putting the IR sensor(camera) on your head and mount the IR lights on the screen.

Similar to what some guy did with a wii.

This is basically a cheaper solution than a VR vision headset.

It's like having a controller attached to your neck (oversimplification). So now you use your hands/fingers and your neck(posture) to control stuff, you don't have to leave your joystick and grab your mouse for freeview move...

  • this need something like the eyefinity. but moore advanced

  • Is TrackIR compatible with Railroad simulators? I'd love to use this in simulation games like Trainz, where you can look around the cabin while driving the train. It would be useful.

  • it works fine with one monitor, you don't turn your head like an owl.

plus not everyone uses a small 20" screen, i'm sitting like 2 feet from a 40"

5 monitors.. yea lets just go spend like 2 grand. lol. must be nice...

  • noice!

  • with one monitor it seems pretty useless, because when you turn your head to the right you have to look with your eyes to the left, otherwise you won't be able to see what is happening to the right because you have to look on your monitor. I think with 5 monitors it works sweet. Strange that this guy only uses one.

  • Where is the press for this thing?

  • hm, seems kind of useless for FPS gaming unless the tracking rate was amplified exponentially. when i play fps games i'll often jump and look back, then forward, and back forward again before i hit the ground.

  • i found em on ebay new for like 130 bucks.

a bit expensive for me at the moment, but would love to buy eventually.

  • where can i buy that i would soo love to use it

  • absolutely brilliant! where can i buy that??

  • google natural point

  • i'm getting this at once!!

  • Patented Math?! LOL, It would be funny to see you defend that in a court of law.

  • @TheGMan10000 - Mathematical algorithms can be patented.

  • @Phydeos I doubt he is talking about mathematical algorithms as it would be simpler and more accurate to say patented software. I assume that he is talking about mathematical formula which can't be patented in of itself, but a specific application of that formula may be patentable, so I guess that's what he meant.

  • @TheGMan10000 I think he means patented IP that uses complex math. But yeah, not the best word to use.

  • This would be sweet in BF3 jets :D

  • Is this hard to adapt to? Im thinking of getting it, but it looks kinda ''hard'' to adapt to...

  • the first one i bought a few years ago was too senseative, can you ajust how senseative on this one? is it easy to install and to get to work in say ms flight sim x?

  • does that work with first person shooters ?

    how about grid/dirt2+3/shift 2 ?

lomac and the DCS series ?

  • @shodanxx

Its perfect for flysims like the DCS Warthog or Black Shark. Makes the gameplay much more enjoyable. Still running without TrackIR. But soon, hopefully next week, its arrive :) Can't wait!!!

  • I think any web camera could do same things !!! Just need special program.

  • @nerionerio

    freetrack

  • does thiis have a system requirements of sorts, iif so what are they?

  • This is so awesome. I need to get this for Christmas. NAO.

  • NOW THATS ONEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL GADGE!! HOW MUCHIS IT??????????????

  • @Razor94ism

    Track IR 5 is $149.95

  • how far away from the tracker can you be??

  • what if u wanted to replace your mouse? could you use this for aiming your gun in any fps

  • Once again, I can get HeadTracking using a normal WebCam and a piece of software called FaceAPI. It tracks your head without any special prehipheral or headgear, and I think the software is free. Now all I need is a really good WebCam with a high resolution, wide field of vision, and incredibly high frame-rate. And it would be even better if I had multiple WebCams like that and they were all Stereoscopic.

  • So you have to turn your head 90 degrees to get the screen to pan so you can see out the side windows...cool, but I can't see the monitor when I do that..oh well.

  • @LordTyrannus if you listen, you'll hear (and see) that if he turns his head a little, the screen moves a lot. that way you can look out the side window while still being pointed at your screen

  • @LordTyrannus did you even watch the video? you can see he turns his head about 5 degrees and the camera turns all the way around in game....

  • Kinect is better !

  • this takes a dump on kinect.

but both are too expensive to be mainstream since their only an optional add-on.

  • is it compatible with mac?

  • @kotonizna I think it's compatible with all platforms, however, it will only work if you have a game that supports it.

  • I would rather have this then the kinect :/

  • is it possible to take pictures with trackir 5?

  • @biakuya of course---------------------------- not.

it send direct coordinates of the tree points to the software at 120 fps. its not a real cam.

  • Has anyone tried this WITH virtual glasses??

    That would be fucking sick.

  • @divez2 Yeah thats exactly the problem with that technology - it makes you feel sick.

  • Dear santa....

  • does it work with il2 sturmovik?

  • @MYEYESONECONOMY

yes it does. i just ordered trackir5 for use with il2 online :) Actually most of the people f°who play il2 online have some sort of it.

  • @MYEYESONECONOMY

yes it does. i just ordered trackir5 for use with il2 online :) Actually most of the people who play il2 online have some sort of it.

  • @zelands thanks dude ^^ it's by far the best combat flight sim , don't you think? :)

  • Excellent sales pitch. I'm sold! If you update this video you should point out that TrackIR doesn't block your vision like VR goggles. You can still see & use your keyboard and aren't blind from the real world. These are crucial points for many sims.

  • ...I think NOW I decided to get one of these... :)

    Very nice review.

  • Amazing video !!!

  • This would be insane with eyefinity

  • I hope Battlefield 3 will have this!

  • fucking nub stfu.

  • thats is truly excellent.......does it work with PS3? If not are there plans for it to work with PS3 in the future???

  • WOW...how cool it's that...:)

  • That's is pretty flippin sweet.

  • Got my G25, playseat incoming, this may be a nice extra.

  • haben! SOFORT!!!!

    Edit: oooh goooooott..... 180€ BÄM!

  • its not so good if you use glasses

  • So..... When can I get this delivered to my house?

  • will be nice gloves to give hand signals in multilayer games

  • Kinect dont work on PC and no PC flight sims or driving sims have kinect support track IR puts your head in the cockpit at 120 updates per second.

  • no you dont say no one wouldve guessed ir means infrared. anyone who cant figure that out by the name is a fucking idiot and shouldnt even have a pc. dumass noobs

  • Stupid, this does not work. Look to the left, but your monitor is still in front of you. Not functional at all.

  • @djunk1967 Are you mocking all the other people that say the same thing on other TrackIR videos? I hope so!

You only have to move ur heard slightly for a large amount of movement in the game... As has been explained millions of times already including in this video which you obviously didn't pay attention to!

  • @djunk1967 lol, idiot.

  • @djunk1967 yea lets attach the monitor to his head so its moves then it will be functional..... :/

  • @pharaelga he was right about this, this system will be better with some kind of lcd glasses, with monitor its shitty

  • man fuck the wii dildo and the glow stick for ps3 give us this for the ps3 or xbox

  • @Darkness0111 Just get a kinect lol

  • I wear glasses and I don't like wearing headsets, I don't mind the cap but I was wondering if any of your clips would fit onto my glasses well?

  • Can your intergrated webcam suport track ir or do you need to buy seperate camera?

I'm new tot his, sorry for my stupid question.

  • Do you NEED a headphone? Because sience mines dead. i dont think i will get one

  • @JJ7x6Studios You can attach them ontop of a hat.

  • having that on your head=cancer

  • @THEjkllkkljkljkl how so

  • Um.. Just curious, will this work with Flight Simulator X?

  • @bingyyork thanks :)

  • if this thing work on xbox360 I'm gonna order right now on ebay.. please somebody help??????

  • @antonio0186 Not on 360.

  • Sorry, did that guy just say "patented math"? And how the fuck does that work? Also if I want to look right my eyes are looking left, thats just retarded.

  • @mattyisagod It's not retarded nothing is perfect. controls don't let you look around whereas this does. They all have flaws. and patented math you don't have to understand. You probably don't understand how a computer works 100%. Go easy on em.

  • @mattyisagod I'm also intrigued by the statement of "patented math" ; one thing backwoodshunter failed to acknowledge in his reply. Seems they need to have some reason to keep the lid on competitors.........

  • Any idea if there will be in the future the track ir incorperated into a headset and wireless?I get a bit fed up of trailing wires everywere.

  • @totalcomposure right in the beginning he calls it track eye are

  • hmm... did someone suggest TrackIR for battlefield 3 or any upcoming FPS title? after playing with this you wish all games had trackIR support!

  • this would be badass if combined with a headmounted display

  • It should really track the pupil. Nobody moves their head around like that in real life. I have TrackIR2 and its just irritating to use.

  • Can you disable the roll or the zoom? Sometines when i fly i lean to one side or lean on my arm.

  • Its not pronounced Tracker, its pronounced Track Eye R

  • @alwaysFSX The guy in the video pronounces it tracker, and he made it

  • @TotalComposure then he has no idea how to pronounce it....?

  • I was looking into getting Track Ir 4 or 5, for FSX. But I dont have to best computer to start with. Does this hurt the FPS very bad?

  • @AddictedtoAviation no does not effect fps.

  • It's cool! But....

You move your head, but keep your eyes fixed (over time gives a headache!)!

The reason for moving the head, it´s to direct our gaze!

It´s Better to implement that tecnology in a video glasses!

  • I love it, I'm getting one for my flight simulator, thank you for the video.

  • Ha, MS can't get their own ideas, and then they copy this.

  • This'd sure help when I'm kicking ass on Rise of Flight,

but I'm just too self conscious to wear a headset while playing. Hahaha

  • man, if you put that stuff on a head mounted display, it would reach awesomeness of epic proportions

  • What 's that racing game he's demonstrating?

  • @EvoPogo rFactor

  • @EvoPogo rFactor

  • This looks great but isa it compatible with the older games, say... Delta Force: Black Hawk Down?

  • whats the point in using that, unless you have multiple monitors runing at the same time???Imagine turning the head down and right,to the throttle lever. How will you watch at the buttons?

  • How can I make TrackIR work on the Mac? As I learn more things, I need an easy way to look around the cockpit handsfree. If not, does anybody know of an alternate product that I can use. Thanks

    heavybubble41

  • This should be build into headphones by default, like mics are now.

  • At first I was sceptical about this, because even when you move your head, you've still got to keep your eyes trained on the screen. But if you can exagerate the sensitivity of the input then I can see how it would be a good idea.

  • where can i get one????

  • Think of "Track IR" combined with "Sixth Sense" motion controls.

  • trackIR + Nvidia 3d view = Great gaming!

  • Very cool.

  • tpetersen1@cox.net

  • I don't know how to put use the hat clip. I've got the clip attached to my hat but then what?

I can't use the headset clip because it's almost broken from trying to fix them onto a shitty pair of headphones.

  • It's expensive but really worth it. I recently purchased it, use it for Arma 2 - Operation Arrowhead, FSX and Combat Flight Sim 3. Haven't tried on racing games but the atmosphere is amazing, especially in A2!

Be warned though, it is very weird at first and takes some getting used to. And don't be lured in by the extra Trackclip Pro option, in my opinion this is not worth the money.

  • thats pretty cool

  • I'm so epically excited its 11:00 PM now and tomorrow morning around 10:00ish my TrackIR 5 will arrive!!!!!

  • @natebot321 was it worth it?

  • @Aiimmo Oh very much! I've been using it for about 1 month, and I love it! The only thing is that you can't have any kind of light bhind you or else the camera picks it up and view goes blah. But still it is amazing and greatly improoves flight sim experience. Use it with Lotus Sim L-39 Albatros!

  • @natebot321 That sounds great!

I'm thinking about buying one, to use when i play TheHunter.

But I'll try every TrackIR compatible game, if i do.. =D

  • THIS IS COOOOOL

  • Is there a program that uses a webcam hte same way?

  • Or you could fly a real plane.

  • @staticalfailure It's pretty expensive.

  • I move head in FPS games when i want to see something behind corner xd

  • Just orderd mine... CAN'T WAIT!!!!!

  • I dont get it :\

If you look to the right, then u cant see the monitor anymore?

  • @Roetker7 I'm guessing you didn't so much watch the video, eh?

  • @berzirk

well i had the sound off

  • All I can say is WOW!!! I've always preached that game developers need to free up buttons to optimize the abilities of your character. This is definitely the future of gaming in 1st person and 3rd person shooters. I hate run buttons, and every shooter game now days has one. Well if they would just get rid of the run buttons and use this to free up any buttons for leaning and or looking...Well then you have yourself a truly evolved style of gaming...Great vid by the way.

  • @Blackwido88 Dude I went to PC from PS3 and I was a SOCOM vet. Im tired of console games and its limitations man. I mean PC has mods for all of the games and accesories like this. Bro you should think on switching.

  • @Xvalt3d I wish I could afford a decent computer. I would love to find a mature crowd to game with on a good game.

  • How muych does this cost!?!?

  • what does TrackIR 5 offer me compared to IR 4?

  • Now if you invented some sorta 360 degree monitor, this would be even awesome-er. Yeah i made that word up, what of it?

  • Just ordered one and the delivery is on Tueasday. I already move my head like that during flight w/o it, so having a Trackir would be great.

  • If the monitor was on a swivel to follow your head but the motion capture device was still, it would be much better because you wouldn't have to roll your eyes around to see the screen still.

  • In the beginning, I was hoping he would headbang.

  • Can you tell me why i should buy TrackIR instead of a free app called FreeTrack? I used my old webcam to pickup any IR LED´s and an old remote for TV to filter out daylight and the IR lights and using a old cap to make it all one it. Total cost: $/€0

  • @RobinMoviesOffical Because the track IR requires a fraction of the effort to set up and provides superior performance. I have tried several webcam imitators and they DO WORK but they takea lot of the work and frustration and in the end TrackIR (at least 5) is simply far more precise, customizable, intelligent, quick, and smooth. It is more expensive and there is a difference associated with that cost.

  • VR goggles with TrackIR = WIN!

  • You still have to roll your eyeballs dont you to still see the screen? so what gives!

  • @z28camaro2 I get no lag with my trackir 5. Its also adjustable in the software how much sensitivity you want.

  • spetacular!!!

  • Can someone tell me if there's ANY lag at all WHEN you move your head fast... I have a webcam with Freetrack and a TrackClip pro, and it's pretty good, but I notice that when I move quickly, there's a tiny bit of lag, which isn't a huge issue really, considering when I play racing games and whatnot, I'm not moving my head that fast anyways.... but I'm a perfectionist, lol

so I may end up getting the whole TrackIR kit

  • looks cool, shame it's so expensive though

    is it compatible with IL-2?

  • @Ironzealot7531

Yes, but you should get IL2 1946 (5 games in 1) because you need to use a mod for six way motion instead of just two. You can get that game on Steam for 9,99 EUR. There are also some guides on the Steam forum on how to install the mods in a easy way. All the mods you need is in one big file so its like installing an expansion.

  • I bought trackir 5.. waaayyyyy cooollll!!

  • Comment removed

  • LoL beim übersetzter bei 1:53 die Türken haben unsere Kinder XDXDXD OMG WIE GEIL

  • imagine playing TES4 Oblivion with that thing

that would own if it was compatible

  • please tell me what wheel do u use

i'm on the lookout for one

I met you on a forum

  • the game would be like " check your six!", then they would whip their head around and see a wall.

  • ok... you look left but theres nothing there... just a wall... so really, you're looking at the side of your eyes..

  • Absolut genial! Habe eines.

  • The german subtitles are awful!!

  • I wish they would chop the price down a bit so i can afford it.. :(

  • the half second delay i can see would annoy the backside out of me

  • ...it's 120 frames per second. The 1/120th of a second annoys you?

  • I have trackIR since Dec 09 and there's no delay with a modern PC.

  • wtf i never heard of it before! probley gonne buy for dirt 2

  • Does this work good with only one monitor?

  • I love my TrackIR 5. Except

    a) it was expensive. Too expensive. Come on, kids, it's an IR intake system about as complex as a webcam...with more resolution. 150 bucks? Good lord, NP, get over yourselves.

    b) Not enough good games. I played FSX and racing games with it. Got very, very old. It has huge potential in so many more games than just racing and flight

  • i want to do it like this: have Nvidia 3dSurround on 3 monitors with this Track IR and that would be really the closest thing to immerging yourself into game available on the market at the time

  • @Newbpwng Good luck making all three working togheter at the same time in any game, much less a game you like/enjoy.

  • @NeoXF im prety sure it is possible in most games Track IR is supported by many titles over 90 and so is going to be Nvidia 3dvision Eyefinity doesnt requier support by games

  • This is PERFECT for people who already move their head like that when gaming . HAHA .

  • @MightyMony1 my friends move console remotes like that lol when they fly a plane they always go low or high or turn with the whole remote like its gona help them lol

  • Sitting about 24 inches in front of an 24 inches screen you already have to move your head. So it's the perfect addon for larger screens. It feels as if the scene on the screen has no limits and reaches beyond the screens surface. It feels very natural.

  • @MightyMony1

GOD I HATE WHEN PEOPLE DO THAT. Especialy in driving games.

  • @MightyMony1 hahaha your right when i fly i always move my head i don`t know why yet

  • This must be crazy with eyefinity or any triple display.
