Is this still a good time to buy?

Apparently, my friends from Canada and South Florida know more about the real estate market in Baltimore than a broker with years of experience. According to both of you, it is impossible to be in a commission based sales business while being an ethical person, my clients would disagree. Again, in my professional opinion, if you are looking to buy a house in Baltimore, it's a great time. Maybe not in Canada, or South Florida...but then again, I'm not qualified to speak about those markets.

Of course people who make their money off of commissions are going to tell you that's in a great time to buy. Ask a car salesman if now is a great time to buy a car. Ask a life insurance salesman if now is a great time to take out a $1m whole-life policy. Ask an Amway zombie if now is a great time to start in MLM.

What do you think their answers will be?

Please folks, you really need to be smarter than trusting a commission-based salesman if "now" is a time to buy.

Thanks for the blanket statement. We have on a number of occasions advised our clients to wait before purchasing a home, or to wait before listing a home for sale. You are absolutely right that we do not get paid until settlement, but we are looking for long term clients who will buy and sell multiple homes over the course of a lifetime. Did you even watch the video before posting your comment? In any case, if you have any insightful comments, please share them.

Never ask a real estate agent if it's a good time to buy. The answer will ALWAYS be yes. No buy = no commission.
