@Rachlikesyouu hello mate, to make objects smaller or larger select the Scale command under the Rotate command, select the object and then drag the green squares.
how can i add stuff in the hose i tried adding a bed i tried to drag the bed from the list then i tried to click onto my house it doesnt work how can i make it work!?
oh wow i was scared about how to make the windows when i just noticed that google already made like 20 windows for u and u can find it on the window toolbar and click components then type in windows in the search bar
aidanchopra : if you have a thick wall , not just a plane, and you create a cut opening component, it actually doesn't cut the wall when you move the component in other place
you speak like your talking to a DUMB PERSON.. "its pretty simple actually", "im gonna select the offset tool, ITS BETWEEN THE ROTATE AND ORBIT, IT LOOKS LIKE THE RINGS OF SATURN" uhm.. yah! your cursor is hovering over it..
@trapwebs23 At least 50% of people who watch this video are below average intelligence, he's doing the right thing. Unfortunately due to the prevalence of stupid people, we must cater for the most moronic rather than excluding them. I hate it, but that's the way it is.
This works on flat surfaces, but I dare you to find a wall that has 0 thickness. I've tried to use this technique to create a window that cuts through a wall with actual thickness, and it doesnt work. If anyone has figure out how to do this I would appreciate it.
I'm not that sure about this one, but, you can use the Push/Pull tool to extrude the face (a lat wall) and make it Thicker, and have more room inside. Technically, I'm not that good at making houses in SketchUp, yet...
I found an easier way to make an outdoor window, if you make a simple rectangle and go to the paint thing. Once you make the rectangle go onto tranclucent paint. Click one of the glass colors and paint the inner rectangle. You can see indoors and have a window now.
thats what I used to do but it is a pain in the ass when you have 3 inch offset walls. It will be hard for you to match the rectangles on both sides of the wall.
@aidanchopra hi, may I ask one question that after I made a rectangle (4m by 7m) for example, I found what I should make is a trapezoidal whose four edge are 4m 7m 4m and 3m. How to change that very one edge from 7m to 3m without changing the length of the other three. I tried highlighted that edge which I want to change and reinsert its new length in "dimension" but what it did was to resize the whole thing.
Trying to make a window component, but no matter what I set the gluing plane as, it doesn't want to end up being upright as the original geometry was.
Could someone help me please. I want to draw in meters, so two question. 1.How do I change from inches to meters? 2.Would the messuarements would show in meters and not in inches? Thanks You.
I really like your tutorials and i learn many things from you, but there is one thing it really annoys me, sorry to say, but you say too much unnecessary things which makes the video too long. Im not complaining, but just asking you to make shorter videos please. And by the way, you explain well and clear, thanks.
ptp29, I just spent a half hour trying to cut into a wall with thickness with a window component. No luck. Seems like you can't do that. Google "sketchup component cut opening".
Workaround might be to cut the hole first then insert the window component into it. Just be sure of the opening positions to save a lot of patching. Get the openings all in the right place and wait till you're sure of their positions before inserting the components. If there's a better way I'd like to hear about it.
I'm having the same trouble... I make a wall, say, 5 11/16 inches thick. the window opening goes in on both walls and its directly lined up. Hit create component (G) and then go to the alignment section (on PC its at the bottom) and glue to any and check cut opening. It works like the window in this video, bringing the hole with it, but it still isnt a component. maybe its just my computer.
