  • Rogers = CityTV

    Shaw = GlobalTV

    CTV = Bell , oh sorry, they use to own them. :P

    CBC = Telus , lol

    As you can see the tv and cable companies are either ripping themselves off or ripping you off.

  • Cant keep something going that we have no more use for. Times change.

    "Local TV" does NOT matter, we have the internet, END OF!

  • Less channels, more programming would work. Remember the good old days.

  • Shaw Cable now has 80% control of Global TV

  • Lemme get this straight...these 'ads' are bitching about not supporting Canadian broadcasters.

    Question: Youtube is a broadcaster yes? American Yes?

    Am I the only one that doesn't see the LARGE-ASSED HYPOCRISY?

  • I know you, you were on that Waste Of AirTime called CityLine, I even got to watch re-runs of that Waste Of AirTime show.

  • Did you know that the C.B.C. gets $1,200,000,000.00 of our tax dollars every year. This Corporate Money Pit needs to be "Privatized".

    Wheres all the Canadian Shows?

    Buying shows in U.S. funds isn't cheap.

    Sure Mr. Canadian TV Station, your so, against cross border shopping.

  • Did you know that the C.B.C. gets $1,200,000,000.00 of our tax dollars every year. This Corporate Money Pit needs to be "Privatized". Did you know these local T.V. broadcasters are already substitized by our tax dollars. "Black Market here I come if this tax/fee goes through. because I ain't paying these greedy broadcasters their salaries through "CORPORATE WELFARE". NO WAY!!!

  • This "Old, Worn Out T.V. Personality" just wants more money for the T.V. station that she works at. I guess shes expecting a big raise at tax payers expense if this tax/fee goes through. I have never in my life seen such a prime example of "Corporate Greed". These local T.V. stations are getting out of control and the C.R.T.C. needs to clamp down on these broadcasters once and for all.

  • If this FEE/TAX is allowed to go through, it will set a precedent for future corporate businesses in Canada. By that I mean dont rule out the newspaper industry lobbying the federal government next to tax your internet to give them CORPORATE WELFARE also. If you think that cant happen, just look at what is happening already in Canada with T.V..

  • My contempt for the C.R.T.C. and this current federal government is growing. How dare you try to steal more money out of my pockets like this. This is supposed to be a free market economy. If these private broadcasters can't make it on their own, then it's time to do what every other free market company in Canada has to do in these hard times and that is down size your company or close the damn doors.

  • I have zero affiliation with any satellite or cable company. What I am is just one of many pissed off Canadians who have had it with "Corporate Welfare" and all at my expense as a taxpayer. I can barely afford T.V. as it is. E-mail the C.R.T.C. and your member of Parliament and tell them that if this "TAX" goes through, you will go "Black Market" for your television like I did. I know I certainly will go "Black Market" if this "OUTRAGEOUS TAX" goes through.

  • So exactly what would be the life expectancy of any channel that was NOT on cable tv? Seems ironic they want money from the very thing keeping them alive in the first place.

  • StopTheTvTax (dot) ca

  • I noticed censorship was going on when LocalTvMatters (dot) ca had a Public Message Board.

    You heard me correct, most of the people were protesting on LocalTvMatters and than they closed the Public Boards and had one comment supporting TV stations.

  • if this goes through enjoy your payout, the vacation is on me i guess
