  • I've got the same bike, a blue 2007. Ridden it everywhere: dirt, clay, mud, gravel sand singletrack and fireroads. Mud holes, 2-lane and interstate. My only complaint is that after 150 miles your ass will get sore from the seat. What kind of tail-lite assembly do you have on this bike/

  • @repetitivemotion , That's awesome, yeah, they are very good dependable bikes that are a whole 'lot of fun to ride too.

It's an Edge tailight with 602 Moto LED signals. I purchased both from wheelingcyclesupply.

  • all i want to know is does this have more power than a yz125?

  • @amishscobey , It's kind of hard to compare the two as one is a pure dirt bike while the other is a dual sport, so they really are not in the same league. The YZ is definitely going to be quicker as it's a two stroke, but overall top speed the DR-Z is going to shine because of the gearing.

The two bikes are very different, so it's hard to compare the two.

  • these water cooled dual sport[s] worry me..as to a water leak way out in the sticks and the long push back. DO these bikes get holes and pee their water ?

  • @linoleumcarving , It's not really a problem if you have a good set of rad guards like Unabiker that will keep them well protected.

Keep in mind, most all dual sports and dirt bikes these days are liquid cooled so if it was a huge problem, they'd being doing it another way.

  • how did you get those lower fork guards to stay on there?

  • @mydogskip09 , I used a couple of small brackets for each of them. There is a threaded screw hole on each side of the fork which helped mount them and I also used a zip tie going on the backside of them around (it was hidden) so between the bracket and zip ties, they were stable. Kind of hard to explain and picture, but if you'd like to see a couple of close up photos of how they were mounted, send me a message and I'll send them to you.

  • im thinkin of gettin a twin air filter, but will it let in more debris?

  • @bandguy360 No, not at all. It is the same as stock being that it is foam. They get great reviews. Just make sure it's oiled correctly!

  • what kind of tail light and turn signals are those?

  • nice bike. Think i'll trade my 09' KLR in on a DRZ.

  • @epicstove , Thanks and you'll enjoy the DRZ.

  • @epicstove Update!! I just got a blue 07' with a tad over 7000 miles on it, for $3400.

  • @epicstove did you ?

  • where you get the mirors

  • @bpoz34 , They're made by DualStar.

  • How fast can you get a stock one to go on the highway? Your weight?

  • @geedunk13 , A stock S model will top out in the high 80's to maybe the very low 90's.

  • @geedunk13 a stock(california) one will not be happy over 65mph over long rides.the revs are just too high above that speed.you could change sprockets, but first gear imo is already too high, and offroad the bike will suffer.it really needs another gear.most of my riding however is offroad.

  • can u ride that off road or is it kinda road only

  • Yeah, the those tires really weren't the best for offroad as they're more street oriented, but you could do it.

  • sexy

  • those aftermarket lights are awesome

  • Thanks!

  • one thing i was desperate to change on my bike was the handlebars. they are just so low and im only 5'8". i put cr high bends on it and it made the ride so much better

  • bad spot for mirrors, are they fold-able?Clean bike though :D

  • Thanks, yeah I don't really ride with those mirrors. They are adjustable in about every direction. I just use the stock mirrors. I mainly just put those as a mock up for the video as they look cleaner than the stockers.

  • nice man. im hoping to get a drz soon.

  • shit dude i cant stop watching this! i love the looks!! and its so clean! lol

  • i love the lower mirrors, excelent bike bro!

  • Thanks man!

  • Lookin straight up awsome dude!!!! Cant wait to get mine

  • Thank you! I would really like to hear it in person. you not from west LA area are you?

  • Nah, I'm not. If you search on TT, there's a video of one on the dyno with it. It pretty much sounds like any other loud open exhaust on a thumper.

  • Hey I have a 09 SM it has the 3x3 mod and jets but I don't know what exhaust to get I was thinking about the Yoshimura RS-2 and others. I think the one on your DRZ is the RS- 3 let me know what you think about it ?

  • Nice bike. Yeah, I have the Yoshi RS-3 and like it a lot, I noticed a nice improvement. There is a new one that recently came out called the SSW MRD which was designed by Eddie Sisneros on TT. It's designed to flow the most on a DR-Z and price is about the same as the RS-2 and many other pipes out there for the Z.

  • since you did all the mods would you say you increased the power by 30 or 40%? How does it feel now as compared to full stock?

  • The 3x3 mod and rejet adds 1 1/2 -2 horsepower. It mainly increases the throttle response. The exhaust adds a little bit too. Stock these bikes have 35hp and I suspect mine would have around 38 from what I've done to it.

  • i found a used 07 just like yours its fully stock only has 1000 miles on it. Looks brand new I think I'm going to get. The stock tires dont look that great so I might start with mods there.

  • Sounds good! You'll have a lot of fun with it. Be sure to check out the DRZ section on Thumpertalk.

  • actually got on there last night, it was sort of confusing it seemed to be all over the place with regards to content. I, green to all this so i probably need to just get on there and look around. I was on the fence between this and the yamaha wr250r until I found such a sweet deal on the drz. Some of the comments I have read say the seat is not that great and it needs to be six speed etc.. but I love the looks of it and I think the wr is overpriced for a 250

  • Sweet, yeah the WR is nice, but I agree too how it's overpriced. Haven't had any problems with the seat although I'm used to mountain bike seats. I think you'll really enjoy the DRZ either way, they're a whole lot of fun.

  • Congrats Dude! That's the one I got on my wish list! Be Terrific!

  • Thanks!
