ahhhhhhh i was just there 2 hours ago, i just got done on that long ass hike out. But tonight was the night of the shooting stars and wow we saw a lot. There were some pretty cool people there tonight in the womb, smoked large quantities of marijuana.
Lol the forest rangers tried to kick us out tonight, we wound up smoking those fools and hiding from them, they were searching for us for about 2 hours and I heard one say fuck it lets go, lol fun times...
i used to go in the late 60s. very unique place. we could camp over night there till some guy died. I also witnessed a death in the main pool from a guy passing out and drowning in the pool...last time i went
i really used to love going there as a 16 yearold. beautiful and lots of freedom. we used to drive up to bowen ranch and pull up close to the old ladys window and hand her money through it to cross. lots of hippies used to go up there and for awhile it started looking like a little town around the springs.after the first guy died the rangers came up with some pollution warning and closed the place for awhile, then reopened it but no overnight camping. we used to do it anyways up river
IM gonna say about 2 months...it was a long time ago. beleive it or not i saw 3 people ride into the springs on choppers at night...I still dont know how they did it.
when your looking at the springs they came in from the left...it was a smaller trail...the last part anyways...at the time there was a little island in the river in front of the springs where we camped...it was dark and we heard the bikes coming long before they got there...when they got close we heard a loud crash and moans. one guy walks up bleeding from his head real bad...the other bike pulls up with a dude and his girlfriend..we wrapped a towel around the dudes head while he moaned..part 1
the other guy gets in the springs with his woman and starts having sex while the other guy says he has to get back cause hes in bad shape...didnt stop his friend , he told him to wait till he was done...after 10 minutes they packed up and left... one guy had a gun and it freaked us out...naturally we were stoned and parinoid...like i said we were 16
Do you bring a thermometer with you when you go to a hot spring? You should. You should become a scientist who specializes in studying hot springs. There are people who do that.
David, your enthusiasm for hot springs is admirable. However, you should put more thought into making your videos. #1...Invest in a tripod. Your vids will be much better with a tripod. Frame your shots and let the water flow inside the frame. Resist the urge to capture everything you see at a hot spring by walking around with the hand held camera. A few well-framed shots would do far more to depict a given hot spring than minutes of walking through a hot spring site with the hand held.
You can get a cheap tripod for maybe $20-$30. Also, buy a thermometer from a scientific supply house (search online). You should make temperature observations at the hot springs you visit. That would be cool. Keep up the good work.

I go to the springs all the time. Yes, national forest land is swim suites optional.
Not many people naked these days. But its a great place to try out skinny dipping cause nobody cares! Just remember no glass, trash, and no tan lines!

man, i miss that place! I was out there in '94 and there wasn't a bathing suit in site. Is it still clothes optional?
Oh yeah...NEVER let even a bit get into your mouth or you'll be in the bathroom for the next 48 hrs.

Nice work. What people don't understand is that it takes a lot of skill to avoid filming the old naked men around the springs...
