This is beautiful!....You can use the wires they have by Duff or you can order them online through a cake supplier....TO TRANSPORT CAKES: I have used clear plastice wrap (very loosely to cover the cake) then I have place them in a cardboard box to support the bottom and pray all the way to your destination that some idiot wont cut you off!....Happy Baking Ladies ;0)

  • WOW, very nice.

what is the name of those sticks that hold up the stars?

and how do you cut out the 16 - did you use a template?

    many thanks :)

  • i love it! Its so awesome and pretty <33 I would love to have one of your cakes. :P Uhm one question if you have the time to answer, do you buy your fondant if so where from? Or do you make your own? thanks

  • you can buy fondant at any michaels craft store but it tastes awful. most people dontlike the taste of fondant so they just peel it off. if you want just a little better tasting fondant use 1 bag 16 oz of marshmallows heat em up in the microwave until they melt then add some water and criso to a table so it doesnt stick and a 2lb bag of powdered sugar and knead til its dough like. store air tight saran wrap. lasts like 2 weeks. store bought tho doeshave a better texture. its super smooth!

  • Beautiful cake!! how do you make the numbers? do you use gumpase on the numbers??

  • Your cakes are wonderful.

I am have been baking cakes for a few years, but havent tried fondant yet.

I will try it for the first time this upcoming weekend.

  • Christina, I just wanted to tell you that I love your cakes! I have made a couple of cakes here at home and everyone tells me that I should start selling them. Can I ask you how you transport the cakes after they are made? I am afraid they will fall over in the car. What is the easiest way to get them to their destination safely?

  • Hi there, thank u for your kind words. I actually just transporte them with nothing on. I just make sure that I have a sturty enough cake board, and I just place it on the floor of my car!!

  • @criscake How hygenic...

  • Hi Christina! I adore your cakes, you know ;). And this cake looks very grown up!

    Black and purple!

  • Hi Chris, wow congratulations on your cake sales !! You're doing so well. I like your funky looking numbers and it's another great colour combination.
