The reasons she was perceived to do well against Joe Biden -

#1. Extremely low expectations of how she would do.

#2. The fact that Joe Biden himself isn't the sharpest tool in the shed (he's alright though).

You're right. Palin has no place in politics. Well, except for the fact that she was elected Mayor of a town, Governor of a state, and nominated to run as VP in Presidential election.  Yeah. Other than that.

For God's sake.....Imagine Palin intact, only 30-40 pounds heavier and much uglier, with her current nasty screaming voice that annoys the hell out of anyone who is not deaf....THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL she could have gotton this far if it wasn't for her look. This is just common sense. Don't go on fooling yourself any longer. She is a classic example of a lesson I learned in Psych 1, that looks matter HUGELY in opening unimaginable path that one may not ever be able to reach with any other merit.

In addition to being a very sexist comment, it is actually quite wrong as well.

Here's something I learned from Life 1:

"You can fool some of the people some of the time; but not all of the people all of the time." (Lincoln said it). She was elected to multiple positions based upon her accomplishments. Her looks had nothing to do with it, (unless your premise is that Alaskans only care about looks).
