I can't understand how can you dislike this. I think Youtube adds dislikes on it's own couse there's just no way someone found it accidentally and didn't like it. You listen to it you love it you didn't know The Clash you become their fan, no other option.
So much new Rock, R&B, whatever..., just cannot touch the way these guys blended so many unique genres of music into pure Punk Rock. Most of today's music (Hip Hop, R&B, Rock, Alternative Rock...(yeah, right, alternative to what???) is totally segregated and watered down. There is no true fusion of different types of music...sometimes, I truly feel that culturally and socially, music and the human race has taken 5 steps backward, instead of forward...Terribly sad.....
The word "cheeseburger" in this song just means what food there is for lunch, the lyric before joe says that is "but anyway the lunchbell rings, take one hour, do your thing.....CHEESBURGER"
@1960unclemort The song was written when Joe was in New York City, about New York City. The whole song is a bit of an Americanism. The studio version of the song also borrows heavily from the protypical version of NY rap music that was going on at that time. Mick Jones was quoted as saying this song was 'basically a rap'.
they actually played live...not like brittany spears with lip syncing and backing vocals.....when joe got pissed of at some one in the crowd they would stop mid song and take care business then pick up right were they left off....amazing!
symbolic of whats wrong with us(usa) in 2009...no pride in anything we do anymore....we put a man on the moon in the 60's and now just the # 1 user of drugs and obese slobs everywhere....
like all the previous posts say, i think this album has more drive and momentum than the, still great, studio versions, its just more in your face like rock music should be!!! oh and dont forget all those peope who say the cash couldn't play!???
