Way better for the workings of society, way better for the average employee. I agree there's a problem for entrepreneurs atm. They should pay the same taxes as anyone else at their income level. Sweden should also lower the corporate tax for smaller and medium-sized companies, as well as low-low-middle salaries. Compensate with other taxes. Oh, and if Sweden would fund their IRS a bit more, they could lower overall taxes by alot and get rid of corruption.

Wow.... This interviewer is trying to get Sweden's PM to admit that the Swedish model is somehow broken. I have never met a Swede who complained that their taxes were too high. You get what you pay for and Sweden is one of the most successful countries in the world in terms of human quality of life, along with Norway and Iceland, where taxes are just as high.

They point is they rank on the top of the list, year after year, in every measurement of standard of living and they don't tend to complain about it--and I know A LOT of Swedes. (I'm not sure where you got that point about 25 year-olds getting retirement... And I am not sure what you want to compared Sweden to in terms of slums, but it is nothing compared to my country, the United States.)

@am1966ath I do speak and read Swedish, have family in Sweden, and have personally visited a young Swedish man in my family who lives in one of those dreadful suburbs. The point is he is not on the streets like he might be in Las Vegas because a gang of crooks hijacked the world economy and drove it off a cliff. (And what you are referring to is not "retirement". It is social security or welfare payments to the unemployed.)
@am1966ath Also, the unemployment in the US is reported differently than in Sweden. We stop reporting after a person has been unemployed for 18 months because we assume they stopped looking. If we reported it the same way as the EU members do, our unemployment in the US is more lie 20%. And ours end up on the streets. And I would love to show you some of our poor suburbs. Only here there stray bullets. I know a 9-year old boy who was shot last week. I would rather have Sweden's problems.

@am1966ath One point you should realize is that the risk of being a victim of violent crime in the United States for whites and Asians is about the same as the general population in northern European countries. The violent crime issues in urban America is directly related to the job/income and educational disparities among minorities. That being said, the United States is much safer than countries like Brazil, Mexico, and South Africa.

@am1966ath I actually have family in South Africa, who are in the process of immigrating to the US to escape the crime and lack of respect for private property. People in Sweden are actually much poorer than people in the United States or Canada. Canadians and Americans have much higher spending power than just about any other people in the world because of our lower tax rates (some are actually a bit high, ex. US has the highest corporate tax rate in the world).

It is way better than the conservative/neoliberal policies of other coutries, but it could yet be improved by reducing some of the administration and changing the current "state-charity" social security model to a guarantist approach. Also, the Social Democratic countries of the North plus Holland should definitely follow the Danish model to reduce needless unemployment.

The tax structure in Sweden is less progressive than the tax structure in the United States. Sweden also has one of the world's lowest corporate taxes which encourages job creation and investment. Obviously I believe Sweden's personal income taxes are too high and if we brought them to America you'd really have a recession, but we can learn from their policies.
@JohnRhysMusician The problem with the American tax system is that it peaks at middle-high incomes and then falls for high incomes. 85% of the American income is shared between 20% of the population, because of this, which is purely destructive for society. America would easily be able to have a social-liberal-guarantist/social democratic welfare system superior to most if they would only try. Maybe begin by redifining their military to a pure defensive force.
@freedomthrough Actually the income tax itself in the United States is very progressive. The top tier pays a much higher rate. About half of income earners do not pay any federal income tax. One reason you hear stories about folks like Warren Buffet and Bill Gates paying a lower rate than "their secretaries" has to do with the way their wealth is earned. If you earn income through investments you will only pay capital gains, not income taxes and capital gains is a fairly low rate.
@JohnRhysMusician Exactly. This is why the tax "peak" isn't where most of the income is "earned". This is why the top decile pays less tax in proportion to their income than the "peak". Obviously, the same is true for other countries too, but since the crisis, there are voices calling for tax reform and tax harmonisation in the EU. I welcome that initiative. Back to the Swedish system: The real income tax should be more progressive but start out lower, coupled with a higher consumption tax.

@freedomthrough We do have a high rate of incarceration. Our violent crime rate in the US is not high, and the risk of crime period to white-Americans and middle-income Americans is very low. I'm actually a Canadian citizen in addition to being an American citizen and both countries are actually fairly similar. Canada's tax structure is actually more affordable than the US's now, their corporate tax being about half. The US does not have a ton of homeless people so I don't get your point.

I Afrika är barnafödseln värst varför skaffar man ungar när man knappt överlever själv. Allt resten av världen behöver göra är att sluta skicka mat och vatten till Afrika så kommer miljoner dö är det deras plan tro världsledarna. Annars skulle dem nog bygga upp ett samhälle istället.
De skaffar barn för att barnen kan hjälpa till hemma, hämta vatten och så vidare. Den nyttan är större. Sen är det faktiskt så att många kvinnor får inte arbeta, gå i skola eller något.
Och du verkar inte veta att i dessa länder så råder det stora konflikter mellan alla olika sorters etniciteter som bor där plus att en del länder har en stor korruption. I Sudan mördar regeringen sin egen befolkning till exempel. Det är inte bara att bygga upp ett samhälle.

Wow.... This interviewer is trying to get Sweden's PM to admit that the Swedish model is somehow broken. I have never met a Swede who complained that their taxes were too high. You get what you pay for and Sweden is one of the most successful countries in the world in terms of human quality of life, along with Norway and Iceland, where taxes are just as high.

They point is they rank on the top of the list, year after year, in every measurement of standard of living and they don't tend to complain about it--and I know A LOT of Swedes. (I'm not sure where you got that point about 25 year-olds getting retirement... And I am not sure what you want to compared Sweden to in terms of slums, but it is nothing compared to my country, the United States.)

The point is he is not on the streets like he might be in Las Vegas because a gang of crooks hijacked the world economy and drove it off a cliff. (And what you are referring to is not "retirement". It is social security or welfare payments to the unemployed.)

@am1966ath Also, the unemployment in the US is reported differently than in Sweden. We stop reporting after a person has been unemployed for 18 months because we assume they stopped looking. If we reported it the same way as the EU members do, our unemployment in the US is more lie 20%. And ours end up on the streets. And I would love to show you some of our poor suburbs. Only here there stray bullets. I know a 9-year old boy who was shot last week. I would rather have Sweden's problems.

@biry0501 The US is huge, people move were the work is, if you arent stoned or on permanent welfare-dude-wellfare cheque-16year old mum...usually in the US people, even immigrants found jobs easier than in Europe because people can be fired in the US..in Sweden you can have cheats or alcoholics sit on a job for years because unions and regulations secure the persons right for a job after a certain time, even if the person is useless..hence the low level of service and absenteeism in Sweden.

We are one of the most gun-violent countries in the world, beside Somalia and Afghanistan. I think the size of this country and the Wild West mentality of its people makes our problems to the scale of our size--it is a curse, not a blessing. @am1966ath One point you should realize is that the risk of being a victim of violent crime in the United States for whites and Asians is about the same as the general population in northern European countries. The violent crime issues in urban America is directly related to the job/income and educational disparities among minorities. That being said, the United States is much safer than countries like Brazil, Mexico, and South Africa.

@am1966ath I actually have family in South Africa, who are in the process of immigrating to the US to escape the crime and lack of respect for private property. People in Sweden are actually much poorer than people in the United States or Canada. Canadians and Americans have much higher spending power than just about any other people in the world because of our lower tax rates (some are actually a bit high, ex. US has the highest corporate tax rate in the world).

@am1966ath It is because the tax system in Sweden is purely Social Democratic. It is way better than the conservative/neoliberal policies of other coutries, but it could yet be improved by reducing some of the administration and changing the current "state-charity" social security model to a guarantist approach. Also, the Social Democratic countries of the North plus Holland should definitely follow the Danish model to reduce needless unemployment.

The tax structure in Sweden is less progressive than the tax structure in the United States. Sweden also has one of the world's lowest corporate taxes which encourages job creation and investment. Obviously I believe Sweden's personal income taxes are too high and if we brought them to America you'd really have a recession, but we can learn from their policies.

America would easily be able to have a social-liberal-guarantist/social democratic welfare system superior to most if they would only try. Maybe begin by redifining their military to a pure defensive force.

@freedomthrough Actually the income tax itself in the United States is very progressive. The top tier pays a much higher rate. About half of income earners do not pay any federal income tax. One reason you hear stories about folks like Warren Buffet and Bill Gates paying a lower rate than "their secretaries" has to do with the way their wealth is earned. If you earn income through investments you will only pay capital gains, not income taxes and capital gains is a fairly low rate.

Obviously, the same is true for other countries too, but since the crisis, there are voices calling for tax reform and tax harmonisation in the EU. I welcome that initiative. Back to the Swedish system: The real income tax should be more progressive but start out lower, coupled with a higher consumption tax.

@freedomthrough We do have a high rate of incarceration. Our violent crime rate in the US is not high, and the risk of crime period to white-Americans and middle-income Americans is very low. I'm actually a Canadian citizen in addition to being an American citizen and both countries are actually fairly similar. Canada's tax structure is actually more affordable than the US's now, their corporate tax being about half. The US does not have a ton of homeless people so I don't get your point.

@KPODIK Det är mycket möjligt, om jag ska vara ärlig så har jag inte kollat upp det där så noga. Däremot så är det skillnad på vad enskilda partier inom Alliansen föreslår och vad som tillslut genomförs. Även om detta är ett av de förslagen som ska genomföras så har jag svårt att tänka mig att det handlar om 49öre (plus moms, den som vänstern inte nämner)

@Xmuxxue Dagens socialdemokrater är inte den samme som den va förut. Sant att socialdemokraterna har byggt upp landet men det har bara gått utför sedan 1989. I allt brottsligheten har bara ökat stadigt med 60% sen dess. Arbetslösheten har ökat till 28% från 12%. BNP har sjunkit med 45%. Dyraste skatten i världen, Dyraste bensinen i världen, Dyraste maten i världen, Dyraste alkoholen i världen, Dyraste tobaken i världen. Så det va socialdemokraterna som förstörde landet igen.

Giggled abit when I read your comment there.. Saying that 90 % of the crimes in Sweden are committed by immigrants.. I'm from Sweden myself and I know for sure that's just pure bs.. If we check the record , for the heaviest criminals in Sweden, there are only swedes there... We have 1 immigrant there that I can think of, and that is Jackie Arklöv, an adopted black man from north Africa, and he became a Nazi .. :p

Skatten ska gå till Sjukvård, Utbildning, Poliser, Försvar, Vägar, Om man gör en brain storm på dem 4 sakerna kan man inkludera allt i samhället. Men nej dem hittar på hundra tusen olika myndigheter som ska ha skattepengar, Säljer sjukvården till privata sektorn lika dant med utbildning vår infrastruktur är inte svensk längre när som helst kan dem höja priserna och varenda krona kommer ta slut i hushållen. Tror aldrig samhället kommer bli "perfekt". Men är du nöjd med Sverige och har inget o klaga på? Sverige är dyrast i världen skatter, mat, bensin, moms på varenda vara. Vill du att dina skattepengar ska gå till t.ex bidrag till invandrare. dem får en bostad och ca. 6000 i månaden utan att göra nått blir brottslig i 90% av fallen. Så SD kan iallfall lösa ett problem eller vill lösa dem kanske inte har nån plan på hur men den misslyckade invandringen kommer blir bättre

@emelieowns Den siffran stämmer bra. Är du laglig bryter du aldrig mot någon lag? Dok kanske inte alla gör misshandel, rån, mord, våldtäkt eller andra stora brott men mindre små brott t.ex person rån, stjäl cyklar och mopeder, bråkar med folk, klottrar, droger, skadegörelse till exempel

Då kan du ange en källa så jag kan få se, att det är 90% av alla invandrare som begår något brott. Titta lite på verkligheten istället för att bara tro och anta.
Och för att tillägga så är hela invandringspolitiken helt åt skogen, men SD kommer inte lösa något, för de har inga förslag förutom att begränsa själva invandring. Vad kommer det att lösa?

finns väl 1 lösning iaf.. mer jobb till alla som redan bor i sverige, plus att vi kan fokusera på dem invandrarna som redan bor här som inte är en del av samhället ännu..

100 tusen varje år får svenskt medborgarskap om vi gör som resten av världen har vi tid och hjälpa dem vi har tagit in att få det bättre. Vi tar in 3:dje mest i världen och vi är lika många i hela landet som andra länder har i en stad. jorden är överbefolkad och år 2100 så kommer det vara 11 miljarder människor på jorden, Africa och mellan östern skaffar för många barn som kommer leva på väst världen. Svensken kommer bli en minoritet i sitt eget land va smart

Och vad ska vi göra åt det? Samerna är minoritet i det land de va först i, så det är inget nytt.
Men att jorden överbefolkas är inte bra såklart, men många skaffar barn för att de är fattiga och i industrländer så föder kvinnor färre barn.

Man kan säga att Samerna har sitt land där uppe vi har inte invaderat deras land och en minoritet är dem men dem ökar i befolkning sakta men säkert som resten av världen borde göra.
I Afrika är barnafödseln värst varför skaffar man ungar när man knappt överlever själv. Allt resten av världen behöver göra är att sluta skicka mat och vatten till Afrika så kommer miljoner dö är det deras plan tro världsledarna. Annars skulle dem nog bygga upp ett samhälle istället.

De skaffar barn för att barnen kan hjälpa till hemma, hämta vatten och så vidare. Den nyttan är större. Sen är det faktiskt så att många kvinnor får inte arbeta, gå i skola eller något.
Och du verkar inte veta att i dessa länder så råder det stora konflikter mellan alla olika sorters etniciteter som bor där plus att en del länder har en stor korruption. I Sudan mördar regeringen sin egen befolkning till exempel. Det är inte bara att bygga upp ett samhälle.

Det är faktiskt inte bara nördar som använder ett lite annorlunda språk på internet. Jag skulle nog tippa på att de flesta som gör det är helt vanliga ungdomar. Det är smidigt och man sparar tid samtidigt som man (allt som oftast) gör sig förstådd.
