The hadiths are to explain some verses and give muslims instrustion on things the quran does not talk about

I don't remember if you read Ayaan Hirsi Ali's "The Caged Virgin", but if you read it, you'd see what the story is about. Ayaan describes in the 5th chapter how the islamic societies are group oriented and put the interests of the group ahead of the individual ones, which means the family, the clan, the ummah (all the muslims in the world) are more important than the individual.

All the individuals MUST be subjugated, submissive (islam mean submission) to all these entities.
