Very cool ride! I'm surprised that it's as loud as it is with the turbos. Years ago a guy in our club had a scary fast Cole runnerbottom v-drive with a 468 twin-turbo with intercooler and it was very quiet.
Yesa I know of the Nordic you are talking about, turbo technolgy's out of Tacoma Wa built the set up and tuned it, they are 4 hours from me..... The boat has a 575 Chevy with a pair of GT47'S on it and Accel DFi GenVII. You are comparing 80k plus boats to our little Jet boats that we just enjoy as weekend toys.... We can drive these little tunnels through 2 foot chop just fine, its not much fun and we never see water like that much but its doable.
@kustomfabb It is titled "Turbo Technology twin turbo boat" My mistake...a 25' Nordic making 114 MPH on GPS. With all that chrome & plumbing I would redo the 'hatch' with a lexan see-thru top.
@kustomfabb I was "raised" on outboards...& when I got my first IO drive it opened up a whole new world.....quiet power! Then they build thru-transom exhausts.....!! same old same old, more noise! Yes you guys like to show-off your newest & greatest motors.its all good I suppose. Its just that some try to drive em' in unsuitable water...slap, slap of the hulls trying to negotiate the waves. Did you see the twin-turbo 112 MPH Baja posted here? TRUE quiet power..Turbos???could be!
You can hate all you want Richard, we used to have a 25 Baja outlaw! Its a kick ass boat, solid and an ok cuddy in it but its not for someone that wants to go fast on the water ubless 70 is fast to them... In the end its all about having fun and enjoying what you have built!!
@devenrood Why short bursts? Because that's how 'they' drive these things1 The most obnoxious things on the river/lake....!!!! Its a constant ...ZOOM....idle, idle........ZOOM, idle, idle...If ever they would hold the throttle open for more than five seconds.........One: crash..blowout. Two blowup a motor/jet-pump. Give me a good 25 ft Baja Outlaw with a big-Block...they would eat these noise-makers everytime! And how often do you see water this calm anyway?....
@RichardEllisxyz Lol!! This is my boat and we were just out testing the A/F ratio before I held it down for a good long pull. I sold that engine and now run a blown gas 565 inch chevy in it.. This lake is always this calm as it is made by two dam's and is 20 miles long, great place to run and have fun. Lots of boats like mine are on this water up here, in our group we run anywhere between 130 and 80 on gps. Two weeks ago we ran the entire 20 miles around 90-92 on gps wich is only 5,000 rpm.
