  • No, not one...Amen. Christ is our righteousness!

  • I love this video! I watch it all the time

  • Okay, now I'm scared. Where do I send my money?

    :P

  • I' m your 197th subscriber!

  • christians sure do use the words FACT and TRUTH very loosely.

  • If there is a god, he has created me in a way that would look back at him with disgust. If there really is a being who is going to eternally torture people because they didn't believe... then I will not go to his heaven.

I would rather burn in hell, with the other victims.

  • trexo2 when piper talks about ppl being evil, he doesnt mean that everyone acts as possibly bad as they can. Yes you can take a bullet for someone you love, but if you dont do it of God, you sin. Those who will do it to glorify Christ, given you scenario will understand how vile they are. Every thing not done for God is sin. I really understand what you mean but the Bible wont allow me to agree.

  • @renovatio1988

And why should we believe the bible?

  • Because it is Gods word and we should obey what God as creator says. Next question: How do we know its true? The product of post modern thought...The issue with that is that you put yourself as determiner of truth/authority! ....

  • @renovatio1988

You have no choice. If you believe the bible is true, you can only do so by deciding it. What criteria do you use to decide it? What is the process your brain takes?

My entire life could be an illusion, we could all be in the matrix, I don't know. But I don't believe in unicorns, Thor, honest politicians, or Jesus.

  • @Havenfall You are in that you say I "decided" it was true. I have to otherwise, I wouldn't believe. But I don't believe because I decided that it was true. I submit my mind to a framework outside of myself. Everyone is a presuppositionalist. They just don't know it. I do not judge the Bible by any other standard. Otherwise it would cease to be authority. Most people do the same, they just assume themselves as ultimate. Again, pressupositionalism it is.

  • @Havenfall Yes, you could be in a matrix, or in one dream/illusion, whatever it may be. So therefore, you practically speaking, take reality to be by faith. Since you can't "prove" reality is real. Senses don't cut it. Furthermore, your rant on witch killing, stoning, etc. is not relevant. People always did and do, take good things and prevert them. Take social unemployment for example.

  • @Havenfall Do understand scripture is relevant, not to your everyday "betterment" of your life here on earth. It doesn't give you 5 easy steps to this, or that. It gives you the info. to "deal" with the ultimate problem. How could God be just and the justifier of sinners? Lastly you say that Jesus is a self serving prick. But you assume a definition of "love" that I do not. The scripture tells us that God himself is the best and ultimate good for us.

  • @Havenfall Therefore depriving one of that is the essence of evil or hate. If Christ came and gave you money, and stuff and everything else you heart desires, and withold himself (and therefore eternal life) from you, he would hate you. So Christ coming is "self - centered" for God and ultimate and best good for us. In this case self centeredness isn't a bad thing, but only because he is ultimately the best thing. We can't say the same.

  • @Havenfall What do you think? Please reply in a self controlled and thoughtful fashion. I have no burden to speak people who simply shout out a bunch of insults without really expecting a reply.

  • @renovatio1988

Insults are necessary. Tell me why you believe the Bible has any truth to it at all. As far as relevance goes, someone stated that the Bible was the most relevant book to ever be written. Since, most of the assertions by God on human behaviour are ignored (ie, god does tell people to kill witches as if they existed) it does seem irrelevant.

The only relevance that I can understand is one's own assessment of what can only be metaphorical ideas of metaphysics. Useless.

  • @Havenfall Insults aren't necessary. I've had plenty of decent convos with civilized people. I believe the scripture to be true of many reasons. But whatever reasons their are, historical reasons, # of manuscripts, yada yada, I do not use any of those as ultimate. I must take it for what it is. Because it is authority. So I take it, because of what it says about itself. This must be the case or else it isn't authority. We already went over this.

  • @renovatio1988

Yada yada sums it up. Number of manuscripts mean little, especially when their original cannot be reliably demonstrated. Anyone could have written them, and the only thing that is needed is to convince a bunch of poor, uneducated middle eastern bronze age people they're true. Historical reasons, you can find historical locations and figures in lots of religious texts.

"I must take it for what it is. Because it is authority." You think so, but all you say is yada yada.

  • @Havenfall That's a pretty cheap response. I care not about your unfounded opinions. "Yada yada sums it up" is of little value when it comes to well reasoned conversation. You have done little "rational" conversation. "you think so, but all you say is yada yada"...? That, my friend, is A- grade debate work.

  • @renovatio1988

Oh, and are conceding that god prescribes killing witches? I thought so. This is the same god who sent a bear to eat little children because they called an old guy bald. The Bible is utterly ridiculous.

  • @Havenfall I didn't see a response to witches. Furthermore, are we under the assumption that people are innocent, as to be up in arms when a bear kills? God gives, God takes, and will do you no wrong by taking your life now. You are not owed anything. As a matter a fact you, but your owed is far worse then you think.

  • @Havenfall To believe what? That the God of the scripture is."God materializing and levitating a chair would do it". Sadly, God already materialized. Walked this earth, spoke with people, etc. And people killed him. "Seeing" God won't help you. You can't believe, because you won't believe. People bend backwards (as far as to say "once there was nothing! Then everything came to be!") in order to deny the evidence of their creator given. Not only is it around you, it is you.

  • @renovatio1988

And all I have to justify your claim is a ridiculous book, among a bunch of old ridiculous books. I still have no reason to believe any of it.

Now, you're being irrelevant. You're arrogance is trying to tell me about myself, which is insulting, naive, and unintelligent.

As I said, insults are necessary. You're not worth talking to, because you're stupid. You're just not intelligent, based on the words you've said here.

    See ya

  • @Havenfall Again, for conversations to progress, one makes a statement, the other replies to it, vice versa, doesn't seem to be the case here. You go ahead and keep on believing in the ultimacy of your mind. And if I am not worth talking to, your the one that is stupid, because you spent a lot of time doing it. You also took your time to come to a video in which you don't believe, to voice out your unfounded assumptions. Bravo. That's "tolerance" don't you think?

  • @renovatio1988

    You're*

And you're not worth talking to you. You can't use reason, and you contradict yourself. You're an idiot.

As far as tolerance goes, I don't tolerate stupidity well. Not having tolerance isn't always bad. I don't have much tolerance for child molestation, for example.

You say stupid things, you get called stupid. I watched this video as a promise to someone I was debating on FB, in return he watched a Symphony of Science video.

  • @Havenfall Name calling is a fools game I won't take part in now. Calling someone "stupid" is easy, but responding to their ideas isn't. When did I contradict myself? When did I reason, inconsistently? Do enlighten me. You continue to impose your presuppositions on me, and can't justify them. Argue with reasoned statements. I can live with being called stupid. But be aware that insults aren't adding anything to your argument.

  • @Havenfall Please do show commands to us, in Scripture, to kill witches?? Not accounts. Not accounts of events. But commands. Do make the distinction between prescriptive and descriptive. Furthermore, the reason you don't see any relevance in it is because you are approaching it with a assumption you are to determine what's true and not, are do not believe what it says. Given you assumption, that is the correct conclusion to come to. Fairy tales.

  • @renovatio1988

    Exodus 22:17 NAB.

Again, I have no choice but to determine what is true and what isn't. You do the same thing, but you seem to have deluded yourself into thinking you haven't. Has Jesus manifested himself, demonstrated his supernatural powers? No. So you were either told the bible was true by someone and believed that person, or . . . what? You have a funny feeling in your tummy one time at church and were convinced?

White noise, that's all you offer.

  • @Havenfall You have no choice but to determine what is true? Really? And on basis, may I ask, is that conclusion founded? Evidently man, left alone, has no capacity to determine what is true. Let me ask you something rather simple, what sort of "demonstration" do you require in order to believe? Because the problem here does not lie in lack of evidence. Because when any evidence is giving is qualified as "non-evidence" there really is no point of talking is there?

  • @renovatio1988

Well, you determine what is true or you say "I don't know" and work to try to find out.

:what sort of "demonstration" do you require in order to believe?" - To believe what? Any supernatural claim would require evidence of the supernatural. God materializing and levitating a chair would do it, but I might think it a dream tomorrow. A press conference would be nice.

  • @Havenfall Any thing you see, hear, experience, whatever it may be, you will use your "logic", founded in presuppositions that I don't hold, to reason why the scripture isn't true. The problem isn't in lack of evidence. The problem lies in your heart.

  • Most of your response, honestly, white noise.

  • @Havenfall Easier said, then shown to be true.

  • But truth/authority thats determined by humans is no truth at all! The Bible speaks for itself. Reading it you can see how relevant it is to a life and how dead on it is when it addresses humans hearts! Scary dead on. Your own mind bares witness that you need to be forgiven. Bible is the only thing that addresses that on the base of heart. Every other system of religion is based on being good enough. Its crazy but look into it...

  • I read the bible, it was extremely irrelevant to my life. I was actually quite repulsed by the god described in the pages, who I could only conclude was a prick and a bully.

However, I see absolutely no reason to assume the bible is true. It's 2,000 year old mythology.

  • @Havenfall 2,000 year old metaphysics propaganda which should be disregarded and left to the inexpedient christian human scum. :)

  • @renovatio1988

It's not scary dead on. Most of the bible is completely irrelevant to my life, and modern society. If you disagree, would you force your daughter to marry her rapist? Do you kill witches or gay people? Do you stone people for working on Sunday?

The bible is so LAUGHABLY irrelevant, that it would be so much better for society to shrug it off as just another ancient religion. Not even a very interesting one.

  • @Havenfall You should believe the Bible because its is no ordinary book. It is a reliable collection of historical documents that were written by eye witnesses during the life time of other eye witnesses. They report supernatural events that took place in fulfillment of specific prophecies and claimed their writings were divine rather than human in origin. 66 books from over 40 writers from a span of more than 1500 years or more from different parts of the world. unfallable

  • @th60064

You surely haven't done any real research if you think its reliable. There were no eye witness accounts in the Bible, and it was written almost assuredly 70 years after the alleged birth of Jesus. What other documents of the time concur the supernatural events of the bible?

No autographed copies, conflicted stories, and all about a god who, as described, is one of the cruelest villains ever depicted in FICTION.

    Learn more, please.

  • @Havenfall actually I have done my research and the Bible was actually canonized after the death of Jesus but the old testiment books or the Torah were written well before Jesus time by prophets who were God revealed spoke to, inspired, and used to communicate himself to the Jews since the beginning of time. Each Prophet starting with Moses down to Malachi were inspired by the Holy Spirit and were in communication direct communication with God and they wrote what they witnessed and experienced.

  • @Havenfall the New Testiments and the book of acts were writen by the apostles who were there with Jesus who saw him in the flesh and saw with their own eyes the miracles he did. If that were not enough there were also the early church fathers during the time the apostles went into all the world preaching the Gospel and establishing the Early Christian churches. The Bible is unfallable because it record acurate times dates and events that can be proved by Historians and through Archaeology

  • @th60064

Lol, wait. Do you still think the Bible didn't "prescribe" killing witches? You asked me, and then didn't respond.

  • @Havenfall You say there were conflicted stories well let me ask, can you name some conflicting stories? Just because you don't believe the Bible doesn't mean it was not true. If the Bible was written by one person only you can say there is a possibility for error and untruth but the Bible was written by people from different areas of the world, who spoke different languages in different time lines and they all miraculously record the same things about Jesus and other events to this date too

  • @renovatio1988

This Christ character seems self centered and vain. According to your mythology, did he die "for us" so that we could glorify him? Self serving fictional prick.

  • this man speeks like all hope is lost for the world, would u take a bullet for someone u love? i bet most of u can answer yes, were not evil.

  • @trexo2

This is christianity though. You're created/born sick and the commanded to be well. I find it absurd that people take the bible seriously.

  • @trexo2 Its not that all hope is lost its that God has already given us hope through his son Jesus Christ. The issue is that God has taken the time to write his laws in our hearts and even though consciously we know what is right from wrong we still choose to do the things that are wrong. example: we know its wrong to lie but who of us can say we haven't lied, we know its wrong to steal who of us has never stolen something irrespective of the value.

  • Those who decide not to follow Jesus its like they are saying I would rather take the punishment for my crime instead of taking the way out that God has provided. People want to find their own way out and they believe that they can save themselves when the day of judgment comes but God says the every idle word we speak we must give an account for it and nothing is hidden from his eyes so all the secret things we have done will be made known. God himself has witnessed them. that why we need Jesus

  • @th60064

Most people who don't follow Jesus are either in the majority (other religions), or simply realize there's no good reason to believe the story. I don't believe in Unicorns, Allah, Thor, and I don't believe in this bronze age mythology either. Asking me to is disrespectful, and a bit insulting.

  • nice jam, thanx for postin:)

  • at 3:13 it looks like a man's skulls freaky but cool. Nice Vid by the way. A hard message to swallow. Thanks
