The story of saya no uta was beautiful... I think it was more about the power of love than an alien invasion, or insanity. This visual novel actually really made me think. The endings were depressing though... I couldn't help but wish that Saya and Fuminori could have been with each other at the end, regardless of how Fuminori turned into a maniacal killer and that Saya was actually a tentacle alien disguised as a human.

saya no uta has extremely well thought out story line and beautiful artwork and has very touching endings but i hate how saya was seperated from him in all of them, just playing this game hurt my heart a little because after the first time through i knew that it wont work out in any of the other endings i cried for a few mins but it realy gave me ne prespective of the word love

@puretay i also think that, if you ever read Lovecraft i think that there is no other way to go, is a matter of survival against the things beyond the void. Saya was a outsider in the worst sense of the word. The only oustider i support is Cthulhu cuz he killed Justin Bieber.

@puretay in fact i dont see it in terms of good vs evil, for me is more about diferent orders clashing wich makes the story more rich, if you think from fuminori and sayas point of view they were defending their love and right to exist against a alien world ,the same way the alien word (in this case the normal world) was trying to purge the foreing element, this is (IMO) one of the main points on Lovecraft work (outside vs inside, dif realitys and crazyness) and shows the great work N+ did.

@LreoSan I definitely see an aspect of good and evil to it. Indeed, part of what makes Fuminori seem more evil is that Saya isn't nearly as aware of what's she's doing.

To quote: "Like a small child plucking the wings off a butterfly."

That said, I can certainly agree Nitroplus did a fantastic job.

And as well, it should be noted, Saya managed to survive for a fair amount of time without attracting any ire. Only when she met Fuminori, did he need to die.

@KinguNoKin I can't say I consider this game to be one. It doesn't have too many scenes and they are not by any means the main attraction of the game. They're just there as to show how low can a person go to love someone pretty much.

The only thing that I don't understand about this game, Saya being a mass of monstrous tentacles and flesh and whatnot, with the strength to snap a mans necks, shouldn't she weigh like a quarter ton or something? Yet there was at least a couple occasions where Fuminmori picked her up...

I'm not sure if I should read this or not. I've never watched any hentai, just ecchi. The bloodiest I've ever seen ismaybe Higurashi or Elfen Lied. I'm probably way to young to read this, but it's supposed to have an amazing story.

Go for it! The game in itself isn't really scary, just full of gross images. Also, the Hentai was pretty tasteful--considering how tasteful guro can get--and fit into the story. It's probably my favorite game of all time, and has an amazing story. It's one of the few things that's brought me to tears.

Impossible to say. Age is only used as a rough benchmark for emotional/mental maturity, which isn't really something anyone can reliably measure. However, if you could handle Higurashi or Elfen Lied, the violence won't be a problem for you. The sexual content is pretty pervasive (and perverse) though, and a good bit unsettling at times. If you think you can handle that, I'd say go for it, but that's something for you to decide.

Such a beautiful game. It's design with such elegance. The whole scene is fluid and serene. The passage into this game is wonderfully exquisite. Spending time to reach every single ending has left me with awe. A game crafted with emotion that goes beyond its pictures and words. After playing, the gushing sensation remains. Saya No Uta's lyric helps recall those splendid memory being stimulated by the cause and effect of this game.

Why would you want a good ending in something like Saya no Uta? It wouldn't fit it at all. It's supposed to be a tragic story. Although I found the ending where Saya "blooms" to be bittersweet.

Well it wasn't too long of a game, I also enjoyed the artwork.

I thought all three endings were quite sad, personally I thought the one where they both die was the best just because it had that sort of Romeo & Juliet feel to it as they were united in death.

Ok, I was doing a little research on this game. From what I found out this game is very twisted, and is sort of like the movie Shallow Hall, with Jack Black. Except instead of a 300 pound fat chick in the form of a slender beauty the girl is a flesh-eating tenticle slime monster.
