is the mapping technique a word for projecting the outline of the shape? i understand how the whole shape lights up, but the seperate lines must take some preperation?!

the Mapping technique is the way you can project on certain element and shapes, and on specific areas with just one projector.
It needs some preparation, but can also be achieve in realtime with a camera tracking shapes and objects.
