  • great job, that was sick! I LOVE THIS song too! amazing lyrics, killer drumming.. Power Windows is definitely one of the high points of their career

  • why can't I find a drummer like you to play with...

  • Fantastic. Cymbal pattern before the solo is wild!

  • My favourite rush song and I can see it played on the drums, marvellous

  • Tight. Nice job!!

  • -{subscribed} Really impressive, like I said before, you really have Peart's power down. :)

  • You are the best.

  • @ThePsychicSasquatch No, I don't really believe in the concept of "best" in music. There are tons of more accomplished drummers than me on YT. But, thanks, I appreciate the thought. ;)

  • Loved it. Amazing skills and fun to watch. Thanks again.

  • Another one of my Fav's!!!!!

  • Perfect coordination, you really nailed it!!!! You say you practiced a lot, and it tells!! Congrats, from a big Rush fan.

  • One of my favorite Rush songs. Thanks for sharing. Excellent!

  • One of my all time favourite Rush tracks and I love drumming along to it.

Fantastic job again mate, you make it look so easy!

  • @schirmmutze Thank you! No, it was not easy, I really practiced this one!

  • @Astrotama Wow!! a real pleasure to see you performing! excellent!

  • AWE.. Man! You've done what wanted to do some 10 yrs ago by putting together a darn near replica of Uncle Neil's set AND mastering his playing. I'm back at it though.. building a set again slowly but surely. Great Job!! -Kip

  • That was excellent as a long time Rush/Neil/drummer fan i know how hard and detailed neil's playing is -a real achievement to even get a facsimile of it you nailed dude.

  • heh, you're really kicking the snot out of the kick on this one!

  • Awesome Job Dude!!! i have a question have u ever played Rush " Second Nature " ??

  • @Johnny64ism I practiced it many times years ago but I have not played it in a long, long time...

  • Inspirational playing my friend...i don't play drums...but i just may give it a try! thanx

  • Inspirational playing my friend...i don't play drums...but i just may give it a try! thanx

  • Another great Rush song flawlessly recreated! Great job! I'm a relatively new drummer currently working on hand technique. Do you have any tips for increasing hand speed/accuracy? Thanks :)

  • Wow...I've always loved this song as well but never had an appreciation for how difficult the drumming is. Excellent work!!!

  • 2 thumbs up !

  • This was great, so I subscribed. I've been drumming for four years and playing percussion for seven, and this is a real inspiration. Are you in any bands?

  • @baronofrage Thanks! Sort of. My Rush tribute band is currently on a hiatus due to some medical problems affecting the members, including me and my poor back. :(

  • SWEET!!

  • I can't wait for his next recreated Rush masterpiece!

  • Fantastically Fantastic!

  • Great job! What I really respect about you is you have a great ear. & you know how to figure out Neils style as the way he plays it. I have been playing in Rush tribute bands for a long time. I have toured the country doing it, Played Rushcon 3 times. If I need to brush up on some Rush. I can watch your videos and know that you are probably playing it just the way Neil did it. Thanks for posting & keep up the good work.

  • @reedcording Thanks for watching!

  • Como sempre, perfeito!

  • can you try lake side park

  • WOW that drum roll around 4:05, INCREDIBLE

  • "Another day as drab as today is more than a man can endure" is exactly how I felt when coming home from work today. Until I watched this. Thanks for turning this drab day around! Outstanding.

  • Simply AWESOME playing i really enjoy watching you play Astro keep up the great Job !!

  • Superbly done!

  • So smooth man, not pushed or 'rushed' it just flows- Still jealous about the sonic matched 2112 cymbal set. Whatever you paid, it was worth it...

  • wow your smooth. 1:03-1:30, others have played this and while the notes were correct the feeling was just not there as it was with your playing. Watching you play this was truly chilling. You are fantastic and one of my alltime fav;s to watch.

  • @osterkenn Thank you!

  • Aloha from the Big Island-nice to see you healed up and back in top form. Always loved this song-one of my favs from Power Windows-very underrated. Really enjoying the 2nd camera angle-if possible, please try to incorporate more of the side angle into your future vids. Mahalo for sharing your passion with the rest of us mere mortals. Aloha Tama.

  • Iv'e seen great in my life of 58 years ! Friend you just moved to the top of my food chain, NUFF SAID :-)

  • well done.....nice to see you back, and in top form. love this song...alex

  • One of my all time favs... In fact Power Windows was a perfect album. Nice job man.

  • 10*'s

  • Tu es en feu de ce temps-ci ;-)

Merci de nous "Entertainer" C'est vraiment plaisant de te voir performer !

  • @Milwauk33 Merci bien!

  • Dude... that was excellent!

  • Now that was cool! That was always one of my all time fav Rush songs....overlooked. Brings back memories of Rush playing Reunion Arena in Dallas back in 86! Great tour! Thanks for posting!

  • Amazing once again!!!!!!!!! I am so glad I found your video's you give me inspiration to keep drumming.

  • Just amazing, like always!!

  • That was great!

Will you consider making a video on some of the sticking you practiced to get your fills so tight, and also how you got so good at incorporating the kick as well? That's a video I'd watch a hundred times at least.

  • OUTSTANDING. That was a treat to watch.

    Thanks for sharing with us.

  • @constantine2112 Thanks for watching!

  • Don't know if it was my computer or not, but the video was way ahead of the audio on this one.

  • @WarPriest1 It happens from time to time. It's a YT thing I think. Try again later?

  • Another beauty! Keep them coming!

  • @BumDog2112 Thanks for watching!

  • It is amazing the level of complexity invloved in a Peart drum part from a song that, on the surface, seems so straight forward. Also, do you learn by feel and sound, or do you find vidoes of him playing to see the stick play? Lastly, are there any more nuanced drums in the game today?

  • @datinsky69 I learn my listening a lot to the song first, sometimes dozens of time for just a small detail. I also watch any videos I can find although you have to be careful here: contrary to opinion, Neil will change drum parts often for live performances. After "studying" Neil's playing for 30 years though, I can guess a lot of things he does and how he does them now by just listening carefully.

  • Another fantastic performance well done :)

  • Love watching yer video covers. Awesome choice in songs too!

  • Hay, Pierre...Really amasing! I loved your grip and perfection, as always!!! As you know, my job is photos and videos...If you recorder with 3 or 4 cams (or separeted shots) I can edit for you! What do you think??? Would be a interesting videoclip of a drummer...Hugs

  • Good Drumming, great song, try doing Buddy Rich covers if you dare, even Neil can'come close!

  • @xxeh Nobody comes close to Buddy. ;) I like jazz and own a lot of jazz stuff but I'm not a jazz drummer by any means.

  • Thank you so much for doing this one. its one of my all time Fav songs and i have alot of memories wrapped up in it. CHEERS!!!!!

  • Great job as usual!!!! How long have you been playing "P"?

  • EXCELLENT. I am going to start learning to play soon. My midlife crisis stress reliever hope one day I can play this well.

  • Once again, a GREAT cover by you, Astro! Your accuracy is uncanny - really great job. I also think that they could bring this song back - it's a great live song. Keep it up!

  • I close my eyes, I listen, I hear Neil :) amazing as usual!

  • Great Job! Rush should have played this on the Time Machine Tour!!

  • @tdrewman I agree. what a great show. Love this song.

  • Amazing man 5* cover you think you can try the manhaton project next ive always jamed to those two songs. plzz

  • Brilliantly performed! Love, love this song! Another one of Rush's exceptional "B-side" wonders off one of their finest albums to date. Thanks for sharing!

  • How in the world do you do that bass fill at 2:18 without using your double bass?? I wouldn't even dream of doing that with one foot. Amazing!!

  • @bndafngr Well, years ago, I played quite a bit of Led Zeppelin with some folks so Mr. Bonham forced me to develop some foot technique and speed. A song like "Achilles Last Stand" will get your legs burning... but it turned out to be useful for that little syncopation madness in this song... ;)

  • @Astrotama This is one of these songs that they should bring back in their shows. I saw it performed live during the Power WIndows 1986 tour (jaw dropping moment) and I just can't imagine how much it would be spectacular to watch now. Power Windows is a favorite of Geddy. Time to bring some songs back from that album!

  • Great cover!!!

  • Just incredible....schweet snare/cymbal combos....holy cow!

  • Another great job Astro! Keep it up bro.

  • Awesome job dude. Rush on brother.

  • Sweet!
