  • She keeps on saying yes on everything that guy says

  • Just used your recipe for my first foray into Thai cooking. It turned out great. Even for a novice like me! Thank you so much.

  • hungry!

  • I love tom yum. It is one of my most favorite soups.

  • hi,

im a muslim from malaysia and i tried your recipe for break fast (muslim have to fast in the holy month ramadhan and usually we serve delicious food during break fast in the evening. you know what? your tom yam goong recipe was a phenomenal! everybody loves it-my mum even suggested me to open a restaurant :) thank you soo much ning. btw you guys looks so lovely filming this together. i wish both of you a happy marriage and happy stomach always :)

  • Yes Yes Yes Yes!!

  • I tried this recipe and it's very delicious!! Thanks so much for the video!

  • love your cooking.

  • Very good recipe. Thank you for sharing!

  • HOLY CRAP THIS IS EPIC.....

  • Btw did you only thank her for the Soup? Tskk.

  • What is that? "Yes" lol.

  • love ur video and iam going to cook tom yum for my home work tomorrow

  • It's not Tom Yum if you add milk...it's "Tom Kha"

  • i just made this, followed Ning's directions and it turned out wonderfully, i've never had tom yum goong w/ milk. it was good, husband loves it.

  • Thank you Ning! your recipe is the best!!

  • Sorry guys, what's the ingredient after you add the smashed onion and garlic? Galonko? Is that what you said? What is that? Cheers in advance!

  • @chisheen Don't know if anyone replied to you, but the root is called galangal. It kind of looks like ginger, but imparts a completely different aromatic flavor. Kinda "woody". You're not supposed to eat it. :)

  • @russofamerica Thanks for answering my question about galangal. I love Thai food, and have just started getting into cooking as a hobby. Anyway, cheers there, Russ.

  • First of all,you should learn english for us to understand you better, the soup looks wonderful, thank you

  • thanks. i've tried many different types of tom yum recipe, and i find this is the best and it really produces the most authentic taste.

  • @tiamxiang

Thanks for watching and very glad that you like.

  • Thank you so much! This was very informative! One question I have is, this appears to be one serving of Tom Yung Goong. If I need 2-4 servings, should I just double or quadruple the amount of ingredients showed? Would it taste the same? Thanks!

  • Before cooking I whizz everything in a processor to a paste, yes, even the prawns! ... But not the mushrooms... Much better, you get a stronger flavor of kaffir lime and lemon grass. Warning! Peel off two outer layers of lemongrass as they are too woody to blend! And I dont add any milk, coconut, or evaporated. Then it Tom yum kha goong and not the same.

  • She's so cute. What an adorable and sweet little lady. Thank you for sharing

  • Um, I usually would put coconut milk instead of evaporated milk, what's the differences does it make? Is it more thicker?

  • @PammieChan You can use either if you like. The coconut milk will give it a coconut flavor were the milk with not. It is just a matter of taste.

  • ooweee, scrumptious, just need a piece of garlick bread to dip in !!!

  • @tubebyjoe2..... The root she is talking about is also known as coriander. They call it cilantro in America and a few other places around the works but in Australia it's coriander. Good luck hope this helped everyone

  • I made this last night and was delicious! just added a teaspoon of brown sugar.

  • Huuuuuuum like, captions please, what the fuck is she saying, and I don't think ive ever had Tom Yum with coconut milk.

  • Soooooo cute!!!!

  • PLEASE: Could someone write down the ingredients for this Tom Yum? I'll try to prepare it this week but I truly don´t get what is the name of the root. Great vid!!

  • what an adorable lady, so entertaining. Making this dish it a true art. I became obsessed with it after trying it in a restaurant and now I make it even better... in turn now my friends are obsessed and always beg me for the recipe as they are choking and between the tears. I cheat and use tom ka paste (maesri) and coconut milk rather than condensed. Regular ginger can be substituted for galang and I don't use kaffir leaves but the lime juice and fish oil is a must.

  • That looks sooo good. She's so cute.

  • this is really cool!

I think I am gonna try this sometimes,

    Thank you so much!

  • what kind of root is that ? And the rounded piece of thing ? What is that ?

  • The quest for the ultimate Tom Yum Goong is the one thing anyone who has had the honor of living in Thailand always seeks to replicate. But you gotta make it yourself cos noone else will. I have almost perfected my idea how it should be and it beats any version I've been sold since - but mine is far from perfect so cheers for the hints here!! I just learned the art that not all ingredients go in the pan! And tried it! And it was much better - thanks!!

  • Looks wonderful! I will be making this soon!

  • i love this soup is so bloody hot reaily nice on a cold ass winter night

  • I think her Tom Yum Goong is better, because she is respect Thai tradiction recept.

  • can i use the leaves from a regular lemon tree?

    nAn

  • @funchi777 no, kaffir lime leaves taste like lime and you can buy in asian stores.

  • what does galongo do for the recipe?

    nAn

  • That was great, i love this soup !!

  • Thanks Ning!

  • i ove tom yum

  • lol i love this woman ^^

  • Puhfect. Dis, veeedy goood!

  • This lady is hilarious. Man I want to try it.

  • the sincerity in her make her sweet and fun :) and her husband seem to be very nice and love her very much and would do any thing for her. Keep up the happy work. By the way, try to make it, it's really good. If you can't get galango (the round thing) you can use ginger root. And if you don't have the kirfir leaves it's OK but it will taste a lot better with it. By the way do you play guitar?

  • Awesome thanks for sharing this, i am going to give it a try!!!!

  • i loved the end of the vid LOL

    she is so sweet

  • she is cute... she sounds like a little witch stirring her big black pot of soup.. =)

  • i want to eat muchroom ^O^

  • แหล่มเรยคับ หิวๆๆๆๆๆ

  • She`s JUST Cuteeee ^_^

  • why too much lemon flavoring...LEMON GRASS, LEMON JUICE, KAFFIR LIME LEAVES....if i will only put lime juice will the taste change a lot?

  • @netpolice151 kaffir lime leaves and lemon grass are the main flavor for this dish. without them, this dish will not taste right.

  • I HAVE to make this next week! Fortunately, there's a great Asian market near here that has all of the ingredients you featured.

  • substitute for galangal : ginger

substitute for kaffir lime leaves: lime zest

  • Hello was wondering if you have found a place in America that sells lemon grass?

Is that paste Nam Prik? or Tom Yam style paste?

(in recipes other than this some have called for both even)

ill have to check back with my asian market upon further investigation.

  • i think lemon grass is like the first thing all thai stores have or should have

  • wow...i just made your version of tom yum ..and i love it never herd of the goong befor ..and i added catfish with a little more Evaporated Milk . because of the fish ..ill will make this version again ..only diff is the milk and the catfish ...thanks again for sharing your cooking ..

  • Yes you can use coconut mike, but put it in when the soup is still boiling. Make sure to stir while so the coconut milk will not separate. Thank you for watching and also your comments.

  • Very authentic dish. Well presented - like the interaction between cameraman & presenter.
