that whole message of punk is so pretentious, but some of the music is great. I actually don't have any problem with pretension, but better make sure you have the talent to back it up. All these famous punk bands that are mentioned, they're fame is a RESULT, they didn't conform, remember this is the late 70s the innocence in music is still present. And i couldn't care less what they do in their spare time.

actually listenin'to peni when i was in hospital in 1984 (with a broke neck) helped me on the way to recovery..the lyric "wheelchair,wheelchair"gave me some strength at a hard time.

The Clash& Pistols and bands of that ilk were the thin veneer of punk, but the real true spirit is to be found in bands like RUDI & CRASS & CONFLICT, and bands like Amebix & Icons Of Filth, Exit-stance and DISORDER. It's only my opinion but when I was a child I saw GOD and GOD told me that I would always be right, so I must be right.....and if you disagree with me then you obviously must be wrong....sorry 'bout that but there's not much I can do to change it except to say, Tough luck old chap !!
