Maybe they had satelites in orbit as we do today. However they might have had more sophisticated satelites which were inhabitated and with better means to come down to earth or go back up. @smplisri if that is the case we really need to do more archaeology finding there should be more signs of technology perhaps better ways of electricity generation even space travel, ships if they went to the sun and back. They had better metelogy then we have today they could make better steel and iron then anyone in the west ever could. Perhaps how to make a floating city we should have signs of crashes or even ufos or something like scraps of ancient computers used by rich.

The three flying cities could have been parts of a fragmented comet in a near Earth pass, and Brahmas' weapon could be fragments of comet entering the atmosphere, large ice meteors sometimes explode before impact (like what happened in Siberia).
