Sad the timing chains stretch on these, rectifiers cook, carb work is a pain, tank is low capacity, seat doesn't let you enjoy long cruising, but great instrumentation and acceleration. Had three of these. Miss the 83 the most, better carb.
I love these bikes I just bought an 85 sabre v45 and even that baby flies I love it!!! I used to have an 84 magna v65 like ten years ago I prefer the sabres though I would love to find an 85 0r 86 sabre v65 they are really hard to find.
I have an 84 that I baby. Parts ggetting ahrder to find and much more expensive keep me from really opening her up. Thanks for the vid though. If anyone ever doubts the power of these bikes, I can link them to here so they can see 0-60 in less than 4 seconds and over 100MPH in 3rd gear just a few short seconds later lol!
My V65 is torn down for the winter rebuild project. This video is inspiring me to get on that sooner rather than later. ;) I only got about 300 miles out of her before blowing a head gasket so I know what I'm in for.
Yea...you did the same thing I did on my old v65. Get all the way up to 100mph then quickly pussy out and slow down due to the shear force of the wind blowing you off your bike. Powerful bikes they are indeed.
