  • She's always been very, very thoughtful and almost spaced out when she speaks, and I've always wondered if she's high most of the time, to be able to achieve this kind of distinct, beautiful artistry...I just don't know how anyone could be this mellow for such a long time ( at least in public ) -

  • What a beautiful interview! I love the song selections and what she had to say about each one. Seems like Tori just opens windows to her soul in interviews. She's so intense and heartfelt in her answers.

  • I kept asking me: why did they play a Queen-Song? I don't believe the interviewers knew about the song "sugar". But now I remember: "It's A Hard Life" has been inspired by the Leoncavallo-Opera "Pagliacci" - the first line ("I don't want my freedom, there's no reason for living with a broken heart") is the same notes as the grand piece of the Bajazzo's lament at the opera's final scene ("ridi Bajazzo..."). So that could have given her a link to her CD, but it looks like even Tori didn't know...

  • @giovai5028 do you have really poor typing skills, a weak grasp on the english language, or did you really suggest that suicides have to do with people "controlling their emotions"? maybe it's all of the above. and, if so, what does that have to do with this video?

  • Thank you, thank you very much for the video!

  • Thank you for all the videos

  • Thank you for this! I love her face when Kate Bush shows up, priceless! :)

  • @SoulmateDie You did see her face move? I did not. Too much botox. I remember Tori being a more active and dynamic interview partner than this. It almost seems as if she was annoyed by playing all this music to her.

  • @ProgressivePiano Well, I hate what she's done with her face. It's just a shame for her, considering her old beauty. Anyway, you have to think about the time factor, 'cause time passes for everybody. She has become more of a quiet lady than a blank statue, I think. It seems she has reborn... Just think about 2009, or 2007. Eeewww!

  • @SoulmateDie I noticed that, too Tori being more quiet and settled in interviews and not as communicative as in the 90s. Anyway she gets across what she wants to say about her music.

  • @SoulmateDie I'm not sure why you think it's any of our business what Tori does to her own face. She obviously likes it and it would be very "un-Tori" to stop doing something because it's inconvenient to others.

  • @th3wing3dpaint3r It's none of our business, but she's a public artist and it's normal that fans (or people in general) have and share their own opinions. That's how the world goes, dear. And she's the one who clearly rejected what she believed in (I perfectly remember a 2001 interview in which she states how women should age peacefully accepting the signs of time). Anyway, I just care about the music, but if you ask me if I'm okay with her face, I say no.

  • @SoulmateDie The popularity of a phenomenon has nothing to do with it being right/wrong, "dear".

Tori has also changed many other ideals along the years regarding men, god.... people change over time. You've said as much yourself.

I just don't understand why it's "a shame" when a musician who gives so much decides to change something personal about herself (which in no way affects her music).

  • @th3wing3dpaint3r To me it's not a matter of popularity, really. It's how she became more and more unsure about her appeareance, 'till she decided to call it quits and change her features. And it affected her music, totally. She consequently published three albums that were crap, in my opinion. She's gone through depression, just look at how thin she was in 2007 (and she's just declared something about it, sayin' that Girl Disappearing talks about herself). Just an example.

  • @SoulmateDie I was talking about the popularity of criticizing a celebrity's every dimension, even concerning personal matters. You seem to think it's ok because "that's how the world goes, dear".

"it affects her music, totally" How? Since all three albums were VERY different, are you sure it's not a coincidence? Maybe you've "grown out of" Tori? Plus, she's still changed with NOH, have the surgeries or Botox worn off?

I'm interested in knowing how her looks have obviously affected her art

  • @th3wing3dpaint3r I don't criticize her, I fucking understand her, and a lot, being a womany myself. But I've been sad for her because she was passing through a bad time and there're so many examples of it, too many it can't be a coincidence. She's better now and you can feel it live, the sparks in her eyes have started to glow again. And NOH is a special album, I think it's a very good one, and I love Tori more now than ever. I've always supported her.

  • @SoulmateDie "She's gone through depression, just look at how thin she was in 2007" Again, shoving your nose where it doesn't belong. & making assumptions based on stereotypes. Hasn't it occurred to you that Tori might have been comfortable with that weight? or that touring might have affected her diet? or that (a dozen other possibilities).

Plus, according to Tori, Girl Disappearing is about how women are their own worst enemy. I've always thought Anorexia was involved, but it's an assumption

  • @th3wing3dpaint3r I am sure of it. "I most judged myself for enjoying a meal around 2007. I was overly stressed, the thinnest I've been, eating in an extreme way. Guilty while eating and after. But now I'm at a normal size, I feel that if you're not enjoying your food in a balanced way, then why are you living?". If you don't trust me, have a look at the interview she made for the guardian, this is were the quote was taken from. When I talk, I don't make assumption.

  • Thank you so much. That soundcheck interview is one of the most interesting! wow...

  • Thank you so much, this youtubehas done so much for archivers and herstoriographers of Tori Amos and the Tori Amos community.
