Ameritards, in general, are one of the most undisciplined when it comes to leading a healthy lifestyle. I see so many people every day who are basically immobile, the sole reason appears to be they are FATBUCKETS. Also the amount of people in this country who abuse drugs/alcohol/food, has to be one of the highest in the world. Maybe the government should encourage insurance companies to give BIG discounts to their insured clients, for meeting certain health markers (weight, bp, nonsmoker, etc).
Kaiser... hmm. old word for Ceasar. Many a Ceasar concidered themselves Emperor of the world. Kaiser Permanenta - Permanent Ceaser. Fuck that! LEt's take 'em down. Go Michael! I've been a fan since Canadian Bacon.
Like a person mentioned earlier..in Mass there is mandatory health insurance. I myself live here and have my whole life. They tell me I have to have medical insurance but wont allow me to get it through the state. If i purchase it, its an average of 75-100 dollars a week, 400 a month,4800 a year. Now when was the last time I was sick enough to go to a doctor? About 10 years ago now. So thats 48000 dollars gone for nothing. And that doesnt even include dental or persciptions. Sorry but no ty.
You know I hate the idea of mandatory insurance. It won't cure anything because the current insurance companies deny, deny, deny all coverage that they can. So what -now we all have to pay a grand a month for nothing? DENIED.
you are an idiot. the free market has done nothing but fuck Americans for the last 20 years, and it only gets worse..why? because there is no such thing as a consumer "free" to treat or not treat. You are dying, or you are not. And when they got you, you have to pay, so they take everything you have. People like you are just playing right into their hands with your lunatic belief in the free market.
I personally got shut out of our profit first health care system. I was an independent self-employed person. I was told that I couldn't get insurance because I was deemed a medical risk, I was 23 years old and had never had a serious illness, just a biopsy that was negative. When one company shut me out, I couldn't get insurance from anyone. That experience that went on for years, convinced me that our system is corrupt and unfair. I now live in a state where I can't be denied coverage.
New York State, but it is also the case in Massachusetts now that they have mandatory insurance. In New York State there are not a ton of companies that will handle NY (because they can't deny people here). Premiums are expensive, but by law companies are supposed to provide more coverage. Trust me they still try to get around everything but it is much better than when I lived in Illinois. People move her because of our insurance laws.
why has the hiv=AIDS hypothesis never been independently reviewed? why did it not go through the normal protocol in the U.S.? the scientists who asked to do so had their funding cut. why?
ok...we have machines that print money daily....fuck lobbyists and fuck congress every human being deserves to be cared for...but when a 60 yr old has to pay 16,000 for a procedure...how does that help her? guys...this isn't about socialized medicine...it's about decency and care for our neighbors.
@bmtimv- yes, BUT YOU GOT THE TEST!!! govt controlled healthcare is not perfoect, but the current for profit system KILLS PEOPLE. think about it. it fucking KILLS PEOPLE.
i see what you are trying to say, you are trying to say that pay for care is more efficient than socialized healthcare. You are also saying it kills people. Lets take a look at universal care in our neighbor to the north; wait times, rationed care, under budgeted hospitals, does that not kill people waiting for serious illnesses? True freemarket, unlike what we have is less expensive, look at laser eye surgery, prices been going down for years.
i am a canadian citizen from ontario and we do not have 'rationed' care... underfunded hospitals, oh im sure you're talking about Princess Margaret and Sick Kids Hospital, Mount Sinai-world renowned facilities.. and even if you do have a wait time you are GUARANTEED to have that spot- The reason for hospital inefficiencies here is that the management in some hospitals aren't accountable and make irrational decisions thus adversely affecting wait times.
I pay thousands of dollars in taxes for a war in Iraq that I dont support! Imagine what that money could mean to children without health care. To me without health care!
Do you realize the money politicians are getting from the medical insurance lobby? Do you really think these crooked politicians in Washington are gonna give up all that money to help you. They're busy right now, helping themselves. It will never happen!!
Go Michael, he's not St Michael but you know something I will take his MESSAGE and run with it anytime over the reactionary right that have run this country into the ground too long, long live the people, remember us?
he is not a saint and who wants to party with a saint anyway, but he tells the TRUTH. What people also fail to realize is that 90 percent of his movies are people telling their stories. Its not Michael talking for them. He is VERY reliable, especially in comparison to the right-wing, which lies, distorts, and distracts, every fucking day.
I love your comments....its time for the giant cultural pendulum (pendulldumb to Republicants) has to swing our way. The problem is not even political, it the POWER of raw in your face, life, and anus corpros (see Sinclair Lewis) rape of our minds and culture. It has to fucking stop. We are dying inside, no outside power really threatens our existence you paranoid coward Repunks. IF you're so white heat mad join the fucking Army and die in Afganistan for Bush oil profits that still hit accts
People who talk about Universal Healthcare as socialist idea. Well our local fire departments, police, our education and postal system are socialized to name a few.
If your house was on fire, I would be glad to help you with my tax money to put the fire out.
If your kids need to go to school, I would be glad to help you with my tax money.
The police patrol the street and protect, and you don't have pay monthly fees but you do through tax.
yeah they dont help you for anything. I had an infected eye and they wouldn't help me because I didnt have the right coverage. They told me "this one is a free consultation" and the woman told me to use saline solution to drain it. Don't ever have Texas insurance in Georgia because it doesn't work there.
we cancelled our insurance over a year ago. it's the best thing we ever did. for doc's appts, dental, or whatever, we go to a clinic for $35, which is way less than a weeks' worth of crap insurance premium. I'm glad we cancelled, and I think if others did the same, it'd make the insurance companies sweat.
I'm glad we did it, I hope others do the same. We can't "work in the system"-- there's no such thing as working WITH these guys. JUST FLAT DON'T GIVE THEM ANY MONEY.
I agree that we should do away with private insurance companies in general but that people should advocate and show their senators and presidential candidates that the people want universal health care. Just keep healthy in case you guys ever get seriously injured or sick.
i wouldnt mind paying extra taxes to cover 30 million uninsured people. socialism doesn't seem like a bad idea when it comes to healthcare

The truth is, the answer to our problems is NOT more government involvement in healthcare.
The answer is LESS -- so the free market can inexpensively and efficiently distribute much-needed healthcare services to ALL American citizens.
But, of course, thats not what those in power in Washington D.C. really want.
After all, that would mean theyd have less POWER and less CONTROL over our lives -- and power and control are EXACTLY what this fight is all about.

You are right but on a local level. The constitution grants more rights to states and local governments than it does to the federal government.

great move, there alot of low cost clinics in each major city. do that. Cancel your health plans, demand the govt to do something

EXACTLY. cancel your insurance, it's the best thing we've ever done. If everyone did it, a change is bound to take place.
