  • The lady who winks at the end looks a lot like the daughter on "Happy Days", Joanie.

  • "This filter cigarette really tastes like a cigarette!" You don't say?

  • how many of these actors died of 1) lung cancer, or just suffered longterm from 2) emphysema?

  • @antonscottgoustin Who cares? This ad was probably made in the late 1940s, they'd be dead by now anyway!

  • finally, a cigarette that won't take effort to smoke

  • fuck i want to try one of those

  • Winston used to be the #1 cigarette but then in the 70s Marlboro took over.

  • That must be the youngest James Garner I've ever seen...

  • Recognize the guy offering his wife a Winston? (It's James Garner)

  • they're all dead now, of course

  • @gmartinz01 Because they would probably be 100 years old by now...

  • Forget about the smokes, lets swap wives and do it !!

  • AS a cigarette should.Like is not an adjective despite what Snooki tells you.

  • I wonder if they are nutritions too? No effort to puff, thats a bonus!

  • Winston tastes flat like my cancer lungs are at

  • Smoke like a choo-choo

    Do your best

    Winston tastes

    like a CANCER breath !

  • I've never smoked, and I sure as hell never will, but I find this commercial to be very addicting, especially along with that fancy tune.

  • Next thing ya know Winston's gonna be making pot wraps

  • sorry about that, i had to delete my own comment.. i was asking about the filter, since i change brand last 2007 to winston light, and im using a filter now for my cigarettes just last week, july. anyway i used to smoke marlboro reds, then change to winston. im thinking if i should change to winston red, since theres a filter in it. haha.. not that i care about those kind of things before... catchy sound by the way, and no need for reply. i already gotten my answer

  • If that was Ellen Burstyn, she might have acted with the name Ellen McRae.

  • That does look like Ellen Burstyn and That was James Garner.

  • You mean no one recognizes a young James Garner of the ( Rockford Files )?

  • Everyone's smoking Winstons!

  • Not anymoar.

  • winston taste good like cigarettes should!!!

  • lol there was a animation on this, bs animations

  • This reminds me of bioshock

  • its sad that people relate old things to a videogame and not the other way around, how it should be

  • dont be a jackass, this kid is obviously not an old fart, so he didnt see commercials like that ever, until he played Bioshock where they had the whole game based around that era of advertising and lifestyle. bioshock is where he first saw it so he associated those styles of commercials with the game, that dosnt mean he dosnt understand that the styles dont come from the previous generations...clearly he does if he understood the game...

  • Where did they get that chick? She looks like they're applying voltage to her brain with an electrode.

  • i just smoked me a pack of flavor full Winston cigarettes lmao

  • This advert makes me want to take up smoking... I suppose that means it's a success :)

  • This ad was first seen in early 1955 (usually on "THE BOB CUMMINGS SHOW", which was sponsored by R.J. Reynolds, the makers of "Winston"). Most actors and actresses have appeared in TV commercials, early in their careers, to "pay the bills" and gain exposure and credits for their resumes...and Garner was no exception!

  • lol, you said "cum".

  • Well whadaya know! James Garner.

  • and Ellen Burstyn!

  • Good catch! I didn't realize this until you mentioned it. She was born in 1932 so she must have been in her early 20s. What an adorable lady who turned out to be such a wonderful actress.

  • I couldnt agree more about Ellen. I love her films. Even the small roles like in Harry & Tonto. She was the reason to sit thru the film "Twice in a Lifetime".
