That was the second dungeon I went into as a level 3 with fur armor. I saw this lady down in there hanging out by a fire so I snuck up on her and stabbed her and nothing happened. She just got pissed. So, I crapped myself, then ran as fast as I could while blocking and popping health pots until I made it out of the dungeon. I ran to my horse and made my escape. She runs faster than a horse! Made it back to the city, barely, and she killed 6 guards before she died. Regular difficulty.

I beat umbra on default difficulty when I was level 2 by using one of my greater power spells to enhance my acrobatics, which I used to jump onto a pillar. From there I repeatedly fired flare at her until she died (took about an hour though so I wouldn't recommend it)

Same! Except I was level 26 when I did this and I bloody ran out of arrows (I had 200-something arrows on me) so I had to go hit Umbra a couple of times with a sword...okay, maybe 3 swords. Umbra's armour was so damn strong that it broke the other two swords :(

i think the correct way to defeat her is, pick that staff out of the chest in umbras room it has the ability do stun her for 1 sec, then attack her and run to the first room with the spiky trap, wait till she runs on it and boom cast the stun, she will be impaled. I think it just totally makes sense, this has to be the way the makers intended it to be

She's in the ayleid ruin vinsindel or something spelled similar. Also I think duskfang/dawnfang is a pretty good weapon if u get it at level 25+ because when it switches between swords it automatically recharges it's charge

the horse names is Shadowmere. u can get it if you are in dark brotherhood. after one quest, which name i can´t remember, lucius will give it to you. the best horse in the game because it will never die and it´s faster and stronger than any other horse.

All I did was get up there, jump on the ledge thing from the table (possible with Acrobatics = 72), hit Umbra once and summoned Storm Atronach's until she was dead a couple of minutes later. E-Z! :)

@BustyGretchen As an assassin, I hid in the dark and hit herr with two poisoned arrows..I then cast Ghostwalk (Invisibility) and came up from behind (Sneak-100) and paralyzed her and hit her with a poisoned blade and kept paralyzing her until she finally kicked the bucket from the poison I used. Her armor relatively intact, (as well as the sword) I went back to my house in Skingrad (Rosethorn Hall) and put the stuff in my trophy case. :-)
