i have an acer laptop wich has a 60 gig hard drive , 248 mb ram , and 1.6 centrino processor will that work on it?

Might, but a bit more ram might be better. Like 384 or 512 mb. You should be able to run it.

It'll work, it works on my "craptacular" 1.2 GHz P4 with 256 MB ram and 32 MB vid RAM.

just do this command if you have ubuntu

sudo -y apt-get install beryl

[this will give you everything]

then run beryl manager and play with the 3d effects you want

if you have fedora the command is:

yum -y install beryl [this will give you everything too]

I know you have the cube-like multi-desktop switching in OSX, but unfortunately it can't be done in the same way as this. I'm sure you can use BootCamp to boot Linux and do this though :)

I tried this as well on my Thinkpad T43p, and guess what... it works! It still needs some stability improvements, but if you want to impress colleagues, this is the thing to do!

I have a machine running at 2.4ghz (p4) with 512mb ram and only 15gig hard disk (old and slow!). It runs flawlessly. Will upload video soon :)
