  • Wow what a blast from the past. This was my first PDA too, when I worked for Dun&Bradstreet. In the UK it was called the Sharp IQ. I thought it was the the most amazing gadget I have ever seen at the time.

  • I got my first PDA in 5th grade. It was an iQuest. I eventually migrated on to a Sony Clie, and a variety of other Palm devices. My mother actually still has her Sharp organizer and uses it. Its not that old but it is still quite the antique.

  • Palm VII I just got it 3 years old. Thing was primitive. But damn I love it! while my dell axim v51x broke *why the fuck is the touchscreen glass!??!* while my old palm VII is still working perfectly despite that it fell behind my bureau for a month then the batteries exploded. God i need to find the serial cabble so i can put games on it :D

  • @Furetgarcon 3 years ago, also this thing is great. Just could somebody point me to the direction of finding the application for the palm keyboard becuase i found one at goodwill awhile back.

  • I can't recall who made my first pda, some brand I'd never heard of. It was a credit card sized thing with a two line alpha numeric lcd display. Think I got it 1987. Apart from the querty keypad, it had no link to the outside world. After that I got a Casio Datacard, although it was nowhere near as useful as my first. Had a few data watches to such as Casio and a weird touchscreen lcd matrix watch by Aegis(?) A Casio SF-4600 (1997?) and a Sharp OZ-700 (1999) followed before going smart phone...

  • @Labruskie Thats amazing! I've just noticed I miss-spelt qwerty!

  • My first PDA was at school with my girlfriend :P

    such a bad, corny joke..

  • MY first PDA was a sony clie peg-t615c palm powered

  • I've had tons of those old Casio/Sharp/Rolodex type organizers you could buy at Wal-Mart for 19.99, but my first *real* PDA was a Casio Zoomer from 1993 which I bought for 30 bucks in 1997. :)

HUGE thing, but it was fun and useful especially for me and school. Only downsides to it was it ate batteries and required eight of them! D:

Anyways, for you PDA lovers, check out my new forum MyPalmtop.Info

  • My first PDA: A kiss at school. :|

  • uhh my first pda was a ericsson p910i :) my favorite was the qtek 9000 and my current is a 7" linux chinese copy thing :p

  • My first PDA was an HP Omnigo 120 from the mid 90s. I have a demo of it in my channel. Had a whopping 1 MB of RAM installed on the machine!

  • first pda was palm m105

  • My first PDA was a Nokia E51 and now I use a HP iPAQ 214 Enterpise.

  • my first pda was....nothing mi phone is windows mobile but im 16 i dont need a pda for the dates lol just know when ur busy

  • Palm Pilot

  • that's cool :D

    where can I buy this?

  • Palm pilot one

there was a touch screen at the bottom of it and it had a small joystick

My dad gave it to me in 1999 or so because I thought it looked cool

Now I use my Blackberry :)

  • palm t|X

  • iPhone 3GS. Yep. Though I didn't really need any type of organizer until I started college last year, so this was a great, modern solution. You honestly expect me to go out and buy a Sharp Wizard and manage my life with that thing?

  • a very crappy zire 31 know i have a palm m500 very nice only 20 bucks that is a great price =)

  • palm tungsten T

  • mobilepro 400 was my first

  • palm 3

  • ipaq 114

  • The olivetti d2100 still works fine here

  • My brother Dannys friend moved in a new home and he found a Sharp Wizard in a cabinet the people that lived there once before left behind and I thought it was pretty cool, so i thought i would check it out online also :)...hope you enjoy yours:)

  • I had a Sharp Wizard 9500, which was sort of like yours except it had a stylus and a keyboard. I loved it, but the screen cracked. :-(

  • mine was the old blackberry RIM.. such a cool device, well... used to be..

  • I use a Citizen ED-130N form 1990 today, still 19 years later.

    And I love this thing.

  • Haven't even had my first pda yet

  • The closest thing I have to a PDA is my Blackberry.

  • First pda was my head

  • Not to make you cry, but my first was an iPod touch. I mean, I'm only 14 so you can't expect much.

  • never had one.. :D

  • My life is so bleak, if I need to remember anything, I'd just put it in my own personal 20kb pda, my brain.

  • I had a sharp organiser... not a wizard though, i wasnt rich enough for that. In fact i had several. A few years ago i bought a second hand palm trium, and now i use my lg cookie as my pda

  • My first PDA was a $50 2005 Sharp Wizard. My mom got it for me on my birthday. The digitizer died after a month. The next one I had was a Handspring Visor deluxe or something. It was black. Then I got a color flip-open Sony Clie from 2002. The wizard was the only non-free PDA I got; the rest were given to me by friends. It is SO cool that your first is so old! I use an IBM 380D for writing...vintage is better!

  • my first pda was a blackberry curve :-p

  • my first pda was in95 or 98 it was a sony pda from palm because it said sony and palm on the back

  • You couldn't get txt's on that? what?

    I couldn't have guessed!

My first PDA was a $30 walmart brand one, came with a stylist and a fake touch pad, which was just a thin layer of plastic over traditional push button. what a hoax.

  • i have a palm III that still works. 128kb of memory. unlike his sharp the palm 3 has a modem addon cradel so it had basic text internet .

  • That was mine too. My next one was a TI 83 graphing calculator with a phonebook app.

  • they still make the ti 83 people still hack around with those. the 3 had a calculator nothing compared to the ti 83 thow. old palm ran on aaa so running out of power meant a trip to the local store lol.but i would get a good 2 weeks of constant use from high quality aaa battery's.

  • My first PDA was the Palm Z22. It is the cheapest Palm PDA and they still make it.

I stil have my Palm Z22 but I haven't used it for over a year now as that's when I got my iPhone.

  • yea more and more cells are integrating everything a pda would do. palm kept up with the times with the blackberry series smart-phones. witch is there top selling device. you can still get a pda but pretty much any newer cell phone offers the same features.

  • yea, my 1st PDA was an iphone.

  • i used to have an old black texas instruments that you could send things to other models like the one you were using. I really don't rember that well though

  • qwerty lol wtf sounds funny the ammount of times he said

  • I think I had the Palm -100 or something like that about 1999 or so.

  • never had one :O i just wrote everything....

  • if memory serves me: the model of PDA i had was a "Palm"-brand model (and i think it was during the days in which it was called "PalmOne"), and the model# was "M505": the first "color"-PDA that i saw Palm make.

unfortunately, the darn thing sucked, it was crappy. the only "useful" thing i could do with it, was use the address book -- which unfortunately wasn't really worth it because i already saved phone numbers & stuff on my cellphone

i returned it within like 2 days of owning the darn thing

  • my first was a palm pilot somebody donated a set of 30 to our third grade class

    goood times

  • I have one of these !

  • My first PDA was a Palm Tx and I loved it. I loved the look of it. I loved what it can do. And I loved using it to type in class notes in high school :D On the other side, sync was just a as as every palm...

Replaced it with an iPhone when it came out.

  • My first was a Qtek S100 (in silver) with Windows Mobile 2003 SE.

  • i had the palm III

  • Mine was a Casio SF4300. I still have it. It is from the late 80's or very early 90's.

  • Palm m105 for me...

  • Sharp Wizard, Still Works

    Xbox 360, Pleeeease...

  • Not going to lie, in Middle School I had a "secret sender" PDA, I thought it was the coolest thing.

  • I think mine was a Palm brand one. I didn't keep it for long because.. well I was like 10 and had no use for one. Now I use my iPhone for absolutely everything.

  • My first, and only for that matter, was and is a HP Ipaq 1940. Had to install a few utilities to optimize it, but it's a pretty inexpensive solution for people who do not have the money for iPhone's and such.

But I have to say, ecstatic wise I like the Sharp Wizards better. It looks more solid too. Never really been fond of the modern designs for phones/pda's.

  • My first PDA was an Apple Newton still love it! Way ahead of it's time, text messaging between units was very cool while the text recognition was comical it served it's purpose very well and still does today.

  • my first PDA was an HP Jornada 720.. great little machine, but now totally obsolete!

  • I had a Psion 5 :D and it deleted all my contacts on my cell phone via IR :\

  • my O2 XDA IIS was my first PDA

  • I am stll using it !

  • well if a blackberry perl counts that was my first PDA

  • i had a palm pilot that was slow and sucked. i never used it. i still have it, and now if u charge it its stuck in the touch screen calibration.

  • i got one for $25 at my school book day

  • whats a PDA?

  • uhhh.... my first PDA was an iPhone lol

i still have it, but could no longer afford the bill so....it collects dust....my beautiful black iPhone 3G -cries-

  • my did still uses his "palm tdx". he gets around with it.

man chris, that sharp wizard is pretty hideous, heh. we've come a long way.

  • I think you have to have a life and money for a pda, I have neither. I know someone who has no life no money, and can't pay the utilities bills, but has an iphone. I hope I can buy a game console before I die. I'll never have enough going on to have a PDA.

  • Palm vx

    i dont have it anymore

    i want another one

  • that thing sucked when it came out...didnt apple have the newton

  • I don't need a smart phone.

My first PDA was & still is a Dell Axim X50v (high end).

I'll be stepping up to the Dell Axim X51v (hopefully) next week. Plus, I will upgrade it from WM 5 to WM 6.5, thanx to some really cool people who make roms.

  • my first PDA was my dads old palm from i think from like 2000 or something, it had a colored touchscreen..mic..had a phone capabilities (never used) and can go online (never tried)

  • I have never owned nor will I ever own a PDA. I don't have a cell phone. Nor do I do Twitter or Facebook. I played the games on Facebook, but lost interest after a week or so. I absolutely refuse to have anything to do with what "everybody" else is doing. If something is something that lots of people like, they think that it's cool. But if everybody thinks something is cool, it's usually not. Twilight, Oprah, and texting are my 3 main hates.

  • i never had a pda >_> unless u wanna count the iTouch as a pda...

  • My first PDA was a calculator D:

  • My first PDA was a Psion series 3 - still got it somewhere. Was great as long as you didn't let the batteries die as it tended to lose its memory. Mind you I could connect it to my mobile's modem and send faxes from out in the middle of no-where - how cool is that?

  • I had these CASIO "Digital Diaries".

Couldn't remeber the exact model number of the first I've got because it lies somewhere in a box, but the second one I have is the SF-7100SY (not that old, also has backlit display^^). I also have one of the CASIO Pocket Viewer (PV-S660) which was more like a PDA for me.

Maybe it's because when I think of PDA's I think of touchscreen controlled devices (mostly with Windows Mobile on it). :P

And now: I have an iPhone. Couldn't live without it. ;)
