  • Headhunterz ;)

  • your joking me right?

  • No more in production (sigh!) A sad and big loss for the electronic music.

  • reminds me so much of NPR's "Hearts of Space" program in the 90's -love this machine

  • This is the first time I've heard a synthesizer instrumental song and I really like it. Are there any artists or songs that are similar to this demo? I want to listen to more of it.

  • I dont get how you could sell something like the Andromeda - your Jupiter 6 video is killer tho also

Can I ask about the general sounds you get from 1:20 - 2:00 - is that some FM between the two Oscillators combined with some LFO action?

  • true VCO with a sine wave and 2 sub osc - how many analogs have this.

  • Remember when you go to your youtube page and there wasn't an advertisement at the top of the page?

Remember when music videos were uploaded by users and not VEVO

Remember when there wasn't advertisements that never go away?

Remember you couldn't have a limit to favorites?

Remember the famous yellow subscribe button?

    WE MISS THE OLD YOUTUBE!

Post this in every video and lets start a youtube riot!

    Orginally by paper glass

Thumbs up to keep it up at the top!

  • @gernadian Quite! These changes were made because Google now owns YT. I didn't know there was a limit on favourites! As I add more, do the first ones get taken away? You missed this - I hate being asked to connect to twitter and facebook every bloomin' time I add a favourite. Why? I an NOT on these sites and don't want to be!

  • Incredible power sounds, I like

  • Their is nothing that comes close to the andy, but you have to be prepared to program it, and appreciate its fuzziness, if you can do this, it will blow everything else out the water

  • that synth looks tough and sounds it as if it was a person it would fuck you up

  • Cool sounds, but poor recording. Monophonic and flat.

  • you made some freaky sounds.

  • alesis sucks!.// good sounds but really bad build...

fusion 6 constantly errors and freezes up

mk 2 monitors burned out both of them

    andromeda power malfunction..

    this company really sucks!

  • great sounds.......

  • Is this thing multi-timbral? I mean, can you take say four independent pads and 'stack' them for a monstrous kind of pad sound?

  • @CW2SCOGG

    Yeah it has 16 parts.

  • @Satak8 - Are you sure? I thougt it was only 16 note polyphony which is a lot for an analogue synth.

  • Nick Rhodes in Duran Duran useon of these in his tour gig.

  • I want!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I dont see how a Roland Jupiter replaces this. I dont hear it. This sounds way more versatile and modern to me. I dont want to sound 1986 all the time.

  • Thanks, Satak8

It was because of your demo that I bought this synth, nearly two years ago.

Since that day, the A6 has ascended its throne as one of the finest, most inspiring instruments I own.

    Be well!

  • @disterbunty26

Oh cool! I sold mine because it's so heavy and I gig quite alot so I get little more compact synths :) JP-6 though is my Andy replacement in my studio.

  • Nice work dude!!! thnx for posting...alesis realy is a serious company. ;) keep electric!!!

  • the quintesential TANGERINE DREAM machine................ bar none

  • The andromeda is the best polyphonic analog synth ever made, no doubt about it. The only thing that I would change about it is the digital stepping of the rotary encoders. Having actual analog pots would seal the deal completely.

  • I consider it the spiritual successor to the CS-80.

  • Agreed. The andromeda definitely was modeled with the CS-80 in mind.

  • Sounds like something from the Blade Runner soundtrack: creepy, alien, cold.

  • 3:00 wow :|

  • uuuu que mello!!!

  • stop being dumb fan kids,

    theyre both very nice synths

  • Not being "versital" [sic] is the price you pay for an instrument that sounds 10x better than the Virus can even dream to.

  • Superb!! JMJ would be proud. Very well done!

  • very nice. BUT I'm afraid it is really a bit overpriced.. I guess I seem to be attached to the Access Virus

  • it is not overpriced at all...it is real analog. and the most powerful analog: 16 voices with 2 osc/voice...32 analog oscillators in total.

imo, the virus is overpriced - it aliases like crazy, sounds like a digital piece of crap vsti and is nothing like a real analog

  • @lavakava your joking right? i have like 234345435 different vsts..and they all sound better than this. you name it i have it. nexus, sylenth, massive, arturia, etc. all with vengeance soundbanks. for much much cheaper than im assuming this 4000 sythnz is. fuck that. at least with VIRUS. you can use it as a midi controller with your DAWs. so stfu before you deride the power of vsts. dont believe me? go to vengeance-sound

  • @Utubesuxmycock --post some video dumbass!! since youre suckass va's outperform real analog, POST SOME VIDS!!

  • @Utubesuxmycock -btw--u get what u pay for--cheap computer based va= cheap digital crap--nuff said!!!!!

  • I wish Alesis would hurry and build some more. Been waiting for 12 months for a new one to reach the UK

  • You have to hurry dude in get one, Alesis belongs to Numark and the last OS update for this synth is the v1.40.12 from the year 2001, this amazing and unique intrument still today day in the price of $3.000 dollars above in price over the last Virus TI2 just released.

The A6 it is or will be a super classic synth and looks like the price range was, is and will still very expensive.

So move it and get one.

  • You can put such emotions in the music with this synth!

  • Wonderful!!!! This music travelled me in two dimensions at the same time: an unknown future and a mysterious past...

  • very well said!!! i could not agree more completely.

  • Beauty is subjective, but I think it is BEAUTIFUL! And yes, I do own one.

  • i have listened to this so many times!!!i bought one 2 months ago and this is one reason why.......

  • Fantastic demo! Who cares what the synth looks like when it sounds this good!

  • i kinda think it looks cool :(

    kinda spacey

  • it looks amazing, cannot understand people who say that this looks ugly. I am about to order one, have to clear some things with my credit card first.

  • also virus is a very good synth but It cant compare with andromeda. Its not only the analogue sound, just take a look at the manual. 16 arpegiators all capable of modulating any parameters and many more features.

Also its wrong that this synth is expensive. Actually did you know that Andromeda is same cost as Virus ? Thomann has both Virus Ti2 and Andromeda at 2222euros. Take a look.

  • Let my correct my self there, Digital Village has Andromedas at 1990 euros... that is cheaper than a virus. Probably the best purchase someone can make for under 2500 euros

  • Its looks are a matter of taste.

To me its not attractive but I love my ugly baby..

check out the forums at electro-musicDOTcom & see what some people have done by replacing the knobs with ones used by Moog...

  • it's the most beautiful and striking synth i've ever seen...sounds just as good too.

  • showtek use this synth :) and the virus to!

  • If I can add my 2 cents worth... I like the metallic look. It's quite 'analogee' looking. The sounds can be fabulous. Way too expensive for analog though , when you compare what digital workstations can do. Each to their own I suppose.....but I like it.

  • sounds like horror video game soundstrack..or X-files sorta' thing..

  • the sound effect is really creepy..

  • Dude, this thing looks and sounds rad and Imma snobby new-waver/new romantic..

    It's a f**kin' dream come true!

  • if this thing wasn't 3000 bucks I would jump all over it. THIS SOUNDS AMAZING! I have to agree partially with hereiamhere about the design. I'm not as passionate about the ugliness as he/she is, but I prefer solid colors

  • cool!!!

  • my opinion about the design has not to do anything with the synth itself, it sounds very good...but don´t you think that it could be a "modern classic" if it was just black or beige or blue (just uni-colour) and had some wooden or whatever side panels...? it was no good idea of the alesis people to make it look like that. it´s enough that you can read alesis on it. no one would care about that if it just sounds good and doesn´t look like THAT!?!? that design just sucks!!!

  • Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, even when they vary so much. I own a A6 and I personally think it's one of the best looking synths currently on the market. If you dont like the synth, thats your decision. Cant see why you took the time out to make your point clear in 3 seperate posts.

  • it´s just a matter of taste. originally there was only 1 comment by me. then i´ve answered to another comment and i´m not good good in keepin´it short, then it were 3 comments. then you came - comment nr. 4: i think i´ve said everything, it´s wonderful synth, but it really looks ugly to my eyes. before i´ve started a career as a musician i was much more into design and arts...maybe that´s why i´m so sensitive in that case. i´m interested in what professional designers think about that synth???

  • I agree that it is ugly & sometimes it can take a long time to find the offending parameter & its got mods coming out it a*se. But it is capable of some very good sounds.. I love my ugly duckling - Andro, Andro ..

  • though beeing interested in design i never took care a lot about how my equipment looks. but this one i´d only put in my sudio if i´d got it for free - and then sell it to get something else. really, i think it´s one of the ugliest synths ever built. anyway, while writin´this i can´t see it anymore and just hear the sounds: nice synth ;-)

  • that's like saying you don't like a studio desk because of its look - the look doesn't matter on an instrument such as this - I find the layout very easy to use, and you can see that it has been designed with ease of use in mind. All in all, a great synth!

  • no question, it´s a great synth compared to many others.

i did not want to offend any owner of that synth or the synth itself and i´m sure the synth design was not made by accident. i´ve used a lot of synths, but i´ve never felt the need of optical help to get into the depth of them. it´s not necessary to make them look like a cheap toy. i´m interested in design and don´t like that of the andromeda, that´s all ;-) even behringer desks or doepfer sound modules don´t hurt my eyes that much, sorry

  • Well done! Massive and dramatic and delicate too.

  • 2. the a6 is faaaar from thin. The raw oscillators have been compared side-by-side w/ the classic Moog 901 (regarded by afficionados as the fattest synth osc ever - just ridiculously fat)and did not get creamed. Turn off background and auto tuning

  • I have a Voyager and the Andromeda can't emulate it. Yes it can sound LIKE it, but they are both completely different beasts and I love them equally

  • You will be pleased to know that there have been blind tests between the two and a LOT of people who swore on the Minimoog, got it wrong. But I'll agree that they overlap sonically, there are sounds that the Minimoog does and the Andromeda doesn't and vice versa.

  • I will agree, the programming is not for the faint hearted. It's not the easiest synth to work around, but if you take your time, it can be fun and very rewarding. Yes, I have experience with the A6, I own one. As for it sounding thin, I have never had any problems with this.

  • Utter bollocks. I am yet to see any advertisement or litritature that states the A6 to be "THE" analog synth. This synth indeed rates up high in the list of analog synths, past and present. The A6 is the A6, it's not a J8. If you want a J8, get a J8. The A6 has more analog running through it's circuits than you have class. . . "the a6 is crap", cheek of it.

  • lay off the crackpipe. you're way off on two points:

    1. overpriced: 16 voices of VCO used to be unobtainable in one analog synth...most topped out at 8 voices, besides the Matrix-12 and a couple others. And they ranged in cost (meaning: lowest price) at the equivalent of today's $5,000-20,000. A new A6 is $3,000 with more voices and far more modern conveniences than any of the old analogs.

  • Forgetting that its basically MODULAR

  • 2. the a6 is faaaar from thin. The raw oscillators have been compared side-by-side w/ the classic Moog 901 (regarded by afficionados as the fattest synth osc ever - just ridiculously fat)and did not get creamed.

Turning off background and auto tuning will help get more movement in the tuning if even more fatness is desired.

  • Rated 10/10

Do you have a place I can downlod your Music with the A6? Its very "1970's"

    10/10

  • beautiful!

  • And this is one reason why I will not part with my Andy A6 - it sounds kickass awesome.

  • Finally an impressive Andromeda video. That Tangerine Dream bass arp is stunning.

  • Your right that is impressive! It does sound like an ARP.

  • Very nice track Satak8 great sounds too!!

  • Very nice track Satak8 great sounds too!!

  • Real analog , and you can tell.

  • control via midi ( first ever on market??) maybe

  • Very nice sound design. The pitchmodulated "melodic" sound that starts at 00:40 is fantastic.

  • just got to the tangerine dream part, freakin sweet

  • is that a bass sequence going at 4ish?

  • Thanks for your comment, I might do some new sound demo in the near futurue.

03:00-05:00 Parts bass notes are sequenced 1/8

05:00-End Bass part is played live by me :-)

  • This was a great piece of music, thanks for posting
