@EldestSauce ah, but that's the point - big guy didn't help. He didn't resist, that wasn't the point of the exercise. He didn't help, and the little guy was still able to throw him.
@judostacey I don't disagree with that. It's just that your description says "Enough of that complaining about my opponent's bigger than me." when his opponent would have crushed him if he had been fighting back at all.
@EldestSauce but that's not the point of the drill. In uchi komi and nage komi, I've gotten complaints when there's a big weight difference or size difference. White belts wouldn't be doing resisting randori anyway, so "resistance" or "fighting back" is pretty moot. To get to the point where you can throw with somebody fighting back, you first have to drill the throw on multiple partners of all different sizes and shapes.
if the guy was using his weight at all then the kid wouldn't get anywhere....
