Women look at the backs of marching soldiers and cover their hands from the setting sun, because soldiers are marching toward the West. So woman should look the eye level rather than up the sky.

The second image is even more puzzling. What do Filipino or Tie people closing their ears have to do with Russian women looking from under their hands? Mystery.
